Clients are more important than cancer

In Nov of 2011 my husband was given a referral to have a needle biopsy of his thyroid as they felt it was enlarged. He had an appt set for a month later and as it approached, his team leader/PM on a project on the other side of the US said he was NOT to take time off as he was needed at the client site. As such, he had to cancelled that appt and since we were moving from one client site home the 30th of Dec., he was unable to just change that appt. Once we got settled in our original home, he got an appt with his regular doc and was again given a referral to have a needle biopsy done. 4 months from the original notice he has been given word that the nodules are cancer!! I swear, if anything comes of this, I will seek out his original PM, Kim, and go after her and her bosses for everything possible. You can bet that if one of her female team members had found a lump in her breast, they would have been given all the time they needed. All I can believe at this time is that Karma will eventually catch up with this woman and she'll understand first hand how precious life is and not to treat others like cattle.
As for Accenture, I still advise they do an internal survey with their employees and get their corporate act together. More employees working with this very high profile client have outside job offers or their spouses are requesting they put in their notices in the next few weeks. As word gets around of the treatment of men and how your corporate line is to not care if they have a medical issue, your going to be loosing more and more quality employees. Nope, you are WAYYYYYY overdue for a HUGE shake up. And believe me when I promise, that if my husbands medical situation goes down hill, I will take all of the hard copies, etc that I have made sure we kept from the original PM on this project and I will not only take you down a few million but will make sure you loose your contracts with this high profile client even if it means testifying before Congress.

Is your husband better now?
not sure how people give more importance to work than to health, but being actually told by a manager to not attend a doc appointment seems like an employment tribunal case. You should sue even if your husband has got better.
Take care and never ever listen to a manager, etc. in these matters ever again - irrespective of the company name.
