I am desperate since cylert has been taken off the market. The people at Abbott told me that the only reason that they discontinued it was because so many other companies were manufacturing its generic form, pemoline. They said it had nothing to do with the liver problems associated with the drug which by the way are absolutly rediculous when you realistically look at the number of patients who had a problem compared to the number of people who used the drug with no ill effects. GIVE ME A BREAK! Its nothing but yet another example of how the FDA has deacided to play God with peoples lives. Of course, Now everyone has stopped making it. No doubt the FDA did put pressure on those smaller companies who manufactured it and they decided that it wan not worth the trouble. Well, now I am doomed. I have NO doubt that the number of people who will suffer ill effects without the drug will be far greater than the number of reported cases of liver problems caused by the drug. Tylenol has caused much more liver damage than Cylert would ever have. I took 150mg daily for 14 years and my liver is perfect! I have tried all of the alternataive medications and none of them work effectively. I am down to trying Desoxyn which has all sorts of bad press associatred with it. Although given the way things seem to work, it will probably be an excellent alternative
