Joe Albertson only had one daughter her name is Bobbi. She had two sons Joe and Tony Scott. To my knowledge, Tony Scott passed away a few years ago and I don't think Joe is interested in going into the family business after all these years

The reality is that ABS will sell the company if the price is right! It's not LJ, rather the Board of Directors who are calling the shots. It's all about ROI!!!! If Joe A had a cat living in Guam who could buy the company, we'd all be working for Tabby's International Supermarkets Co!! Whether we remain based in Boise depends on where if makes the most financial sense to a buyer!

We (the employees of Albertson's) have not heard a word from either Albertson's or SuperValu. Right now all we hear are rumors. It would be nice for either of them to let us know what is going to happen to us.

From personal experience (ABS purchased us 2 years ago) and we went from a privately owned company to a publically held one! That results in alot of changes! One big impact of being publically traded is that the Board of Directors really can't be as open as they may want to be. They're obligated to their share holders first! This would be okay if we all owned stock in the company, but if you're simply an employee it's different! No matter how much LJ says he loves us, his main allegiance is to the stock holders (oh yeah, and himself) Remember he's not just an employee but an owner.
If you really want to be able to fully trust your boss to act in your best interest, then be your own boss! Sad to say, but that's the truth! You heard it here, from the 'voice of reality'
