I've just read that Texas got over 50,000 Votes for their secession petition (25,000 Required). What is this all about?

Texas is not the only state doing this.

The American future = balkanization?

Hmm, they have actually a lot more votes. Silly me... I'm a little slow today.

Anyway, there's also a counter petition:

Yes. I've heard that most Europeans still think America is overwhelmingly white, too. Please, Europe, don't let yourself become like us. Stay European. Enoch Powell was right.

What is the secession petition about? Does Texas wish to be independent from the other American states?

I've heard about that. I think it's not just Texas wanting to be "their own country" or something.

I don't know. Too much is sneaky, backwards, underhanded, greedy, and downright stupid nowadays.

I visited the US Politics forum & a young Democrat there was claiming that this succession thing was a dummy-spit by the Republican states (because they lost) but somehow I suspect the issues go a fair bit deeper than that in the South.

Should the U be removed from the USA? I live in SA as well but it stands for South Australia down here ;-)
