MSN Messenger for new intel iMac

I purchased Microsoft Office for the Mac, which includes MSN messenger, but when I try to use it, I get a notice that a more current version MUST be downloaded, the existing version does not work. So I download the new MSN Messenger which works fine until I reboot, and then I am told to download it again. So far, I have had to download a new MSN Messenger each day.

The best things are :

Chatting > Adium www.adiumx.com
Webcam > Yahoo Messenger www.yahoo.com
with PC's
Webcam > iChat www.apple.com
with Mac's

but Yahoo Messenger does not support audio, only chat, and their video is really crap.
I love Adium, because although it very easy interfase, is very powerfull and also support other several clients.

And we must recognize that MSN it's garbage ... too slow, virus and spam infested and it discriminates Mac users.

Hi. Does anyone actually know if there's a way of getting round the problems MSN for mac causes. I have downloaded MSN 6.0 for Mac because I'm running MAC OS X Tiger, and whilst it downloads okay it won't allow me to sign in saying that "im either offline or the server is unavailable". However as far as i know neither are the case.I connect via Ethernet on a university network and just wondered if anyone knew a way to get around the problem. Please Help!

i have a imac computer ever time i go to download a better msn messenger its never compatible with computer.i want to get msn 7.5 so i can send my friends nuger and better emotions . p.s can there b something to help yhis

Im having the same problem, just bought a iMac a few days ago. Im going to install windows and run MSN off Windows.

Hey I have the answer for u! Just go to GOOGLE and type in messenger mac and then with one of the options u should be able to download msn for mac. But the down side is u can't send winx or use webcam and some stuff like that, but rather than that it's normal. So good luck and enjoy!

Yeah they do offer msn but not very good ones. I have downloaded msn 6 at least it's better than some others. Just go onto google then type in msn for imac den look for it.

I am running msn messenger 6 , with no problems .. Some of the feature do not work such as iCam .. You can also run a dual boot and run messenger, or yahoo messenger and the cam dose work..

i have a new intel macbook, i first used adium, but figuered i wanted to use the iSight camera for webcam conversations, so I downloaded MERCURY MESSENGER instead...works fine, and has webcam support..:)

so, go to mercury.to/ or something like that ;)

you can get Windows Live Messenger for Mac with display pictures, emoticons and personal emoticons. It does not support voice chat or cam chat though.

It's supported on PowerPC Macs and Intel Macs.

Go to www.mactopia.com to get it. I'm pretty sure you can get messenger: mac and Windows Live Messenger for Mac on it, too.
