We don't want any more warehouses. How much did our state/local government give in tax breaks to get this warehouse? Once again, our so-called leaders are asleep at the wheel. This article could/should have read "Indiana Gets 600-Job Biotech Center" or "Company Plans 600-Person Tech Research Park." Instead, we get stacks of car alternators, forklifts, loading docks and low wages. Note to Indiana government: Wake up and start doing your jobs!!!!!

Wake up, Star.

We don't offset manufacturing jobs with parts-picking.

Tell your government? Since when is it the government's responsibility to find jobs for its citizens? How about a little personal responsibility instead of blaming Mitch. With more willpower and less bitching, anyone can be successful in this country. It's a lot easier to blame it on someone else. I'm glad Advance Auto is going to hire so many people that need work, but most of those hired won't be qualified to do much more than pick items from a warehouse. In the past, those same unskilled workers could make way more than they were worth as a union auto laborer, but those days are gone forever. If you want more, get off the couch, go to school, do well and you can write your own ticket.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight,

College graduates write their own ticket? Apparently NONE of the unemployed are college grads? Tell me that you don't believe this.

I know lots of engineers who are college grads and who are currently drawing unemployment after being laid off by Chrysler, Ford, Rolls-Royce, etc. I doubt that they believe your ignorant statement, either.

No, a college graduate can't simply write his or her own ticket. You'll find plenty of unmotivated people with masters degrees, too. Maybe you are associating with the wrong group of folks. I don't know ANYONE who doesn't have a job. Not one! I know a lot of people who have lost their jobs, but quickly found another usually better than the one they lost. I worked for a company for 26 years that closed 2 1/2 years ago. Instead of complaining and blaming, I started my own business with hardly any money. I've worked hard and now earn over three times more with no boss. My point is simple. People need to know they have control over their destiny and shouldn't expect anyone, especially government, to bail them out. Look in the mirror before you call another "ignorant."

I have been with AAP for seven years in Ohio. I am
a happy camper. Good benefits and a fair check. But ......don't tell anyone but we actually have to work and show a profit.

Yea i have seen alot of college people standing in unemployement lines. I have worked with some who talked about degrees . Im thinking if he is a college person why is he here. You do not have to go to college to do some jobs that call for degrees. If i go to a job and you tell me what to do and show me you wont see me till the end of the day when i punch out. Thats because i know what im doing and i dont have a degree....
