Hey man just keep on thinking that way... Like the old saying goes, " A fool and their money will soon part" Keep paying those crazy Legacy carrier prices, they have got you right where they want you, Blinders on and dumb as a stump...
duh duh duh! You don't get the gist of what I'm saying. Sure I'll be separated with more of my money when I fly the major carriers, but it's not "my" money--it's the company's and they're paying for my flight. And as long as that's the case, there's always going to be a segment of people [large segment] who want to fly majors, and don't want to hunt on the internet for hours to save $5 on airfare like you, doofus

Let's see ... what airline is it that consistently has the #1 Customer Service rating.
Oh yeah ... SOUTHWEST!
Hey, what can I say? If the rude, the smelly, the obnoxious--i.e., the Great Unwashed--like SWA, they're entitled to fly SWA.(It's all they're able to afford, anyway.)

SWA: They haul America's trash!

No one would fly out of Peotone either...

We have four descent sized airports for Chicago - its ridiculous for the politicians in Illinois to push for another airport that will just be a cash drainer. No airline in this economical climate would take a risk to expand to that Peotone. We have Gary, Midway, ORD, and Mitchell as options for regional airports. We do not need another moth-ball airport.

Hey Jake, easy up on Doris there buddy. She's got a point. Sure Southwest does somethings well, but for simple people, with simple needs. They do well for leisure yokel travelers who don't mind making the trip out to out-of-the way airports (like Milwaukee) with their 5 checked bags, and screaming children. Sure there are exceptions to the rule, business travelers on SWA sometimes, but don't count on it.
Why? Business travelers want things like departures every hour on the hour, from O'Hare to New York. They want an airplane that doesn't have a cartoon drawing of Shamu or Mickey on the outside. You think a big corporation is going to sign a value agreement to put all their people on Southwest, the flying CTA, so they can go from Milwaukee to Amarillo, Texas? Don't bet your life on it. You keep flying Southwest buddy, and let the important people fly a real airline
Man... if every business thought like you do.... they would not be around long...what is the difference what color the damn plane is? get a life....like the old saying goes... A fool and their money will soon part.....

The reasons why airlines service is aweful is the fact that 1/2 of the airports they served is filled with STUPID BUSINESS JETS. They don't have to pay for landing fees, taxes, usage fees, business jet passengers don't pay for airport fees that many of us pay and there are 20,000 of them carrying 2-4 people verses 4,500 for airlines carrying 50-500 passengers.
The second is that when marginal weathave comes into ORD, damned foreign aircraft filled with pilots who have no business piloting an aircraft and who does not speak english should be delay until they can speak and understand proper english.

Build it - NOW!
Picture electrified trains running down the middle of, under where need be and/or along side our interestate highways at 220/240 mph on designated tracks powered by American-made electricity from a national grid of vast solar, wind, tidal, wave and nuclear power stations. Chicago to New York, Boston, Phillie, Washington, DC, etc, city center to city center in under 4 hours!
Build it and the WILL come! Also, it'd be nice to give our 'friends' at OPEC less of our money for a change.
We're nearly 40 years behind the rest of the developed world in doing this. England, all of Western Europe, Japan and China's got 'em and we have not a one.
Bailing out he auto-industry and GMAC is profoundly short-sighted. Let's DO something beyond the end of our nose - for a change, and BUILD HIGH SPEED RAIL NETWORKS!
20+ years away. Whats gonna happen til then? Southwest will expand And keep growing. Thats what it was built to do. Moving too new cities and hiring more people. It really is a great company to work for. 2 gates here, 6 gates there....I like New Mexico One, It's Gonna look like packman to Midwest at MKE. danna-daanna...... And, I would love to go 200mph by train. Dat B COOL!
