Good for Southwest. I fly them all the time because the DO NOT charge for the extra bag. Are you listening United, American, Us Air, Delta and Northwest?

I FLY SOUTHWEST BECAUSE THEY DON'T NICKEL AND DIME ME.

If the rest of you fool airlines would do the same thing, I'd fly with you again. Until then, screw you.

I hate to see crappy airlines prosper while the decent ones struggle. Our standards are getting lower. :-(

I'm not sure what you mean. Southwest is one of the few "full service" carriers left, even if they didn't start out that way. The "legacy" carriers are the ones who nickel and dime their customers. True, they don't have assigned seating, but they do have a better on-time record than most. In my mind, that makes them far more than a "decent" airline.

Hey Jake, easy up on Doris there buddy. She's got a point. Sure Southwest does somethings well, but for simple people, with simple needs. They do well for leisure yokel travelers who don't mind making the trip out to out-of-the way airports (like Milwaukee) with their 5 checked bags, and screaming children. Sure there are exceptions to the rule, business travelers on SWA sometimes, but don't count on it.

Why? Business travelers want things like departures every hour on the hour, from O'Hare to New York. They want an airplane that doesn't have a cartoon drawing of Shamu or Mickey on the outside. You think a big corporation is going to sign a value agreement to put all their people on Southwest, the flying CTA, so they can go from Milwaukee to Amarillo, Texas? Don't bet your life on it. You keep flying Southwest buddy, and let the important people fly a real airline

Mitchell airport is a joy compared to O'Hare for those of us in the northern suburbs. I picked up my daughter last night. I was able to park about 50 feet from the terminal, walked into the terminal to wait for her plane, picked her up and when I left, there was no fee to park because it was less than a half hour. Where in Chicago could you park for free? I will definitely be flying Southwest to Milwaukee.

I live 5 miles from the Ohare terminal, but if the price is right, I'll gladly drive the 60+ miles to MKE to fly from there. Parking is so much easier (and cheaper) and getting to the gates is much faster as well. The hour that it takes to get there is about how long it takes to navigate through the parking, security and gates at Ohare.

About time MKE gets Southwest. MKE is such a great underutiized facility. It is Chicago's 3rd airport. Larger than Midway but smaller than Ohare and yet large enough to handle big planes, ample cheap aprking and no hassle terminal that has all the bells and whistles for eateries and shops that the large airports do. Kudos to Southwest for coming to MKE. Maybe increased service to MKE will put to bed forever the wasteful stupid idea of a Peotone airport. The MKE airport maybe 20 miles further than Peoptone would be, but MKe still is closer to a larger population density and has rail service to the airport

One nice thing about SW, if you need to change your itinerary they give you a credit on the tix purchased for a year. It does not cost American $150 to change a reservation.

I prefer to fly out of Midway. But Milwaukee might be an option and take Amtrak down to Chicago.

I'll have to check the taxes on the tickets out of Mitchell but they would have to be much less than what they are on a ticket out of Midway, I'll gladly fly out of Mitchell to save money (taxes) that Crook County and Shitcago tack on to ticket purchases ! Another option than paying extra taxes to Daley's machine !!! Thank you Southwest !

If parking is really that big of a deal, then park your car at the CTA Rosemont lot and take the Blue Line right to the airport. That's 20 minutes max and only a few dollars. There's no way a 1-2 hour drive one-way to Milwaukee and the gas used can be a better deal.

I've flown in and out of O'Hare a million times and I've always felt the complaints about it were exaggerated. Take the damn El!

Face it, Southwest is the regular guy's airline. I won't fly on any other airline unless I'm absolutely forced to. The flight attendants actually have personalities.

I like Milwaukee's airport, but the idea that someone would drive 2 hours each way to avoid O'Hare seems a bit much to me.

It's not "Chicago's airport"-- it's Milwaukee's and Wisconsin's airport. How many people actually drive from the Chicago area to Mitchell? I'd like to see some stats-- I bet they are grossly over-exagerated.
