Classy: Pro-abortion protesters drown out “Amazing Grace” with chants of “Hail Satan”

by Ed Morrissey

I admit I was skeptical of this story when it came across my e-mail yesterday evening. Generally speaking, stories that are either too good or too bad to be true aren’t. Even at the beginning of this short clip, it’s nearly impossible to make out what the pro-abortion protesters are yelling — at least until the camera swings around, and a young woman helpfully boosts the message.

Classy:

***It’s been a very interesting day at the Texas State Capitol. Cahnman’s Musings hasn’t been following the hearing. Instead, we’ve been participating in the surrounding events. LetTexasSpeak has been doing a live broadcast from the rotunda where women have been sharing their abortion related testimonies. The pro-abortion crowd has responded with repeated chants of “hail Satan.” It’s taken us all day to get a video recording, but here it is … For the record: They’ve been doing this all day, this is just the first time we caught it on video.***

CNN Express also picked it up at the time, although it’s unclear whether this made it to broadcast (via Twitchy):

[Twitchy feed]

The Blaze reported it late last night:

***The abortion battle in Texas was still raging Tuesday as both abortion supporters and pro-life activists flooded the State Capitol to make their voices heard. The Texas House and Senate reconvened briefly for a special session called by Gov. Rick Perry.

ne of the more bizarre tactics used by pro-abortion activists involved chanting “Hail Satan!” to harass a pro-life crowd as they sang “Amazing Grace.”…

Obviously, it is much more likely that the abortion supporters were chanting “Hail Satan!” to mock pro-lifers rather than actually hailing Lucifer, but anything is possible.***

I’m certain that the intent was mockery.
The overall effect of chanting “Hail Satan”?
That’s another story, but one of those effects is surely clarity.

Each of us was once an embryo.
Elective abortion devalues human life, particularly that of children.

I wonder whether you feel that the bigoted, racist rantings of your cohorts here who call for killing non-white people on a daily basis devalue human life.

What say you, O tippyheaded wise bible thumper?

"What say you?"....Gabriel's Hammer?

I say that you conflate rhetoric with reality.
Murder is still illegal.
Killing babies in utero is not.

That's really not an answer, is it Tippy?

Straight up, when your cohorts here call for the murder of human beings because of their race or religion, does that devalue human life?

What's your opinion?

My Sincere Apologies to the Kid Killing Caucus

by Erick Erickson

I must offer up my sincerest apologies to the kid killing caucus that took it on the chin or other body parts in Texas last night.

After days on end of abortion supporters in Texas holding up coat hangers and then, yesterday, throwing feces, urine, and tampons in defense of killing kids, I tweeted out a link to a coat hanger wholesale store.

The kid killers were offended.

Now, I expected them to be offended because I was mocking their hyperbole. But they actually seem to think I was seriously suggesting some policy for the GOP.

I am so sorry. I forget that feminists and other pro-abortion activists really are as humorless as they are stereotyped to be.

In the future, I promise I’ll remind myself constantly you people really believe throwing tampons and raising coat hangers can stop the will of the people who overwhelmingly support prohibiting late term abortions. And I will act accordingly.

In the meantime, again, you have my apologies for offending you for thinking I was being serious instead of accurately realizing I was mocking you and your outrageous hyperbole and lies.

If you were a woman, and you had a baby through rape, or were too young or poor to effectively take care of the baby, would you not consider abortion an option?

If my daughter was raped, I wouldn't force her to go through a pregnancy. I know that there are some women out there who have continued with the pregnancy and it's worked out for them, but I also know others who have continued on and it has not worked out for them, particularly when the male child shows early signs of rage.

Way too personal a choice for anyone to decide for anyone else.

Rape is a truly rock and a hard place decision. But when it comes to 18 year old girls who get pregnant out of ignorance during consensual sex, there's no excuse to abort. They can give the child up for adoption. There's no general public stigma being unmarried and pregnant in this day and age.

I say in the case of rape abortion should be mandatory. Too poor of odds that the kid will turn out to be an Obama voter type given the gens pool donation from the rapist

Not with the bennies you can get from the government there's not! Nothing worse than seeing someone get free diapers, formula, food, health insurance - and then go out and buy a 2013 car with the money they've saved, meanwhile living with the boyfriend who makes a decent (if not extravagant) buck.
