I will quarter them, dip then in egg roll them with flour seasoned with sage black pepper and oregano. Then fry them in a cast iron skillet with real butter. That is my grandmother's favorite at thanksgiving.

M m m m GOOD! I think it's wonderful that you cook. Men are great cooks. Except they are messier in the kitchen. LOLOLOLOL
That's a great recipe.....is grandma still with you?
All my grandparents are gone but........I have some great old recipes from them during WWII and Depression.
They utilized every part and made delicious meals to feed their families.

That rabbit recipe sounds like it would work well with other critters as well.

This is especially for you, Duke .....

Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing---imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure to tell when the turkey is thoroughly cooked but not dried out. Give this a try.
12-15 lb. turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is good)
1 cup uncooked popcoorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT) salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of he oven. Listen for the popping sounds.
When the turkey's ass blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it's done.

BADA bing BADA bang
Enjoy!

Sounds good Spook, but mrs. rowdy won't go near it, yet she'll eat gator and such. Go figger.

Have a joyful, wonderful, celebration of eating, drinking, arguing with family members who're either righties, lefties, or politically disabled. Stuff your faces, have a drink, them stuff your face again. Get ready for some FOOTBALL...that city due Northwest is going doooooown!

Enjoy this day to relax and do nothing but eat,eat eat, and thank god your ancestors made this day a reality, for without them, you'd still be eating wild onions and potatoes with a little gruel for a filler. So thank you white people from sea to shining sea, that we can sit down to a nice big plate of hog maws, honey spiral ham, chitterlings, collard greens, turkey & dressing, gravy, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, potato salad, green beans, cranberry / pomegranate sauce, sweet potato pie, frosted pound cake, baked beans topped with bacon, and liquor & beer.

We humbly thank thee O' great white father in the sky for blessing us so graciously with all the good things we grow on the natives former land. We appreciate your governance in our affairs and daily lives. As we gorge we will say a prayer for those looking in our window with distended bellies. Amen.
