Ahhh, you are making assumptions.
The evidence shows that Zimmerman was injured. You assume that the mechanism for injury was Trayvon's fist.
If Martin didn't injure Zimmerman, then the choices are someone else did or he did it to himself, and I'm pretty sure a reasonable jury won't come to either of those conclusions.
Now--given the absence of Zimmerman's DNA on Trayvon's hands, it is prudent to look for other injury producing mechanisms.
DNA is not always transferred as you would like us to believe. And even if it were transferred in this particular case, it could have also been removed during a subsequent scuffle. As I'm sure you know... Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
O'Mara this week suggested facial contact with the sidewalk. Did Zimmerman trip and fall? Why concoct a story about being punched in the face?

Zimmerman's story is that Trayvon's hands were all over his head and face.

He claims a blow to the face that knocked him to the ground and broke his nose. He claims repeated blows to his face followed by knocking his head multiple times on the sidewalk. Then he claims that Trayvon used his hands to cover his mouth and nose--preventing him from breathing and leading him to fear he was going to pass out (oddly, not interfering with his ability to scream repeatedly and uninterruptedly for help).

The they both reached for the gun (a la Roxie Hart in Chicago), but Zimmerman won out and shot him, Trayvon uttered the words "you got me" and Zimmerman pinned him to the ground with his arms spread-eagled (although police found him with his hands under him).

Now then, when and how did the DNA (would have been plentiful from Zimmerman's bloody nose and lip) get wiped clean, and how did Trayvon's arms move from spread-eagle to being beneath him?

One more time, Zimmerman is not a cop.

And walking in the rain is not suspicious behavior.

We weren't dscussing whether or not Zimmerman was a cop, we were discussing whether or not "suspicion" had a place in the legal system. Are you claiming that only cops are allowed to be "suspicious"?
And walking in the rain is not suspicious behavior.

Work your way back up the thread. The original charge was that Trayvon was not following the rules or respecting authority.

The rule that you claim he broke was that of being suspicious.

Asked to provide a citation of that rule, you offer the dictionary, further defining it as some sort of feeling or eye of the beholder state of mind.

Nothing there that can be observed in the sense of rule-following.

So--stop meandering all over the map.

Cops can be accused of stalking and/or profiling. Should that be the case, you better believe they are going to need some better defense than that they had a gut response to justify their actions (note, actions). And a private citizen doesn't even have the justification of action to prevent the commission of a crime that they feel might be about to be committed.

And, for the record, walking around in a hoody is going to get laughed out of court if someone is silly enough us claim it as "suspicious behavior."

George Zimmerman, the man charged with second-degree murder in the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, on Thursday sued NBCUniversal Media over the station's coverage of the fatal shooting in Sanford.

The complaint alleges that NBC News used "yellow journalism to portray Zimmerman as a racist by omitting portions of a call Zimmerman made to law officers the night he shot Trayvon in Zimmerman's neighborhood.

"Defendants pounced on the Zimmerman/Martin matter because they knew this tragedy could be, with proper senstionalizing and manipulation, a racial powderkeg that would result in months, if not years, of topics for their failing news programs," the lawsuit reads.

The complaint claims NBC News saw the teen's death "not as a tragedy but as an opportunity to increase ratings" and portrayed Zimmerman as "a racist and predatory villain.

The lawsuit was filed in Seminole County.

May George prevail. NBC News never learns, even after 25 years of fabricating evidence.

It's called being informed and not acting like you...an ignorant, uneducated drone:

Dateline NBC aired an investigative report on Tuesday, November 17, 1992, titled “Waiting to Explode”. The 60 minute program was about General Motors' Rounded-Line Chevrolet C/K-Series pickup trucks allegedly exploding upon impact during accidents due to the poor design of fuel tanks. Dateline's film showed a sample of a low speed accident with the fuel tank exploding. In reality, Dateline NBC producers had rigged the truck’s fuel tank with remotely controlled model rocket engines to initiate the explosion. The program did not disclose the fact that the accident was staged.

Speaking for "the left," I don't think anyone really cares who you are attracted to. Frankly, that seems more like a righties concern to me.

You don't get MY sarcasm. Despite what you believe, nobody on the left really cares who you are attracted to. Even the hot women on Fox.

But, I would suggest that following the hot women is probably not the best criteria for getting your news.

Yes, hhn, speaking for the left, there is a wide tolerance for people's attractions and behavior.

You, however, really push the limits.
