yeah, I'm physically addicted to caffeine. To the point where I get a headache and can't move my bowels right without it! Usually drink 2 cups but on Saturday I drink a whole pot to myself.

I usually make mine double strength, but If I drink more than 30 ounces I start climbing the walls. It sure does help me work though.

that and it make me pee a lot for like 3 hours. It smells like a freshly brewed pot and looks like a porter style beer with a head of foam and everything!

I've eaten them. Never again, I felt lit like a Christmas tree. Have to admit, they do taste good but from now on, I'll take my coffee brewed with some milk. On weekends, with some booze--Irish coffee is the nectar of the gods at Sunday brunch.

I grew up with a lot of company at the house, or at my grandparents..
Always a bottle of whiskey, pizzelles, and almond Biscottis on the table....everyone spiked their coffee, and it was so good!
Haven't had that since childhood.

Another thing....
When we were sick with colds, my grandma and mom made a "witches brew" which consisted of lemon, honey and whiskey. Oh.....the days of yesteryear.......

So did I!!! My dad's sister and her family lived just a few blocks from us. My aunt was always such an excellent cook, and so was my mom. My aunt would cook and just bring stuff over like cofffee cakes, ham dishes, and my mom would also cook. We'd have feasts all weekend long over at my aunt's or our house.

Being Polish, there was always plenty of "wodka" around, the good stuff. My dad and mom always had wine around, it was there on the dinner table. They didn't spike their coffee, but bloody marys were around for brunch and on special days like Christmas, mimosas. I got the spiked coffee thing from my ex's family who were Irish. I used to love Christmas Eve because we'd have the wigalia dinner--a meatless meal of fish and veggie dishes before Mass, and then after Mass, we'd open presents and my parents or aunt had a full house. We'd be up all night long opening presents and then brunch.

We did the same thing for colds--mom would give us tea with honey and whiskey with lemon. I still do that once in a while.

the "witches brew" is an actual drink called a "hot toddy".
