Dr. Benjamin Carson delivered a noteworthy National Prayer Breakfast keynote speech in President Barack Obama’s presence
Carson attacked political correctness as a “dangerous” threat to free speech and encouraged Americans to boldly share their views
The pediatric neurosurgeon also provided his theories about the national debt, deficits, taxation and health care, taking stances that were opposed to the president’s
Obama watched intently as Carson spoke for more than 25 minutes

One of the more unique speeches delivered at this morning’s National Prayer Breakfast came from Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Taking the stage before President Barack Obama’s faith-filled address, Carson spoke for more than 25 minutes, tackling issues ranging from education to personal responsibility. His keynote, while predicated upon the theme of Jesus Christ as his ultimate role model, also took a starkly political tone, advocating against some of the very policies the president has implemented.

At the beginning of his speech, Carson shared an intense disdain for political correctness. Without getting too specific on the issue front, he said that Americans should stop being afraid to speak up and defend their beliefs; he also encouraged people to respect the individuals they disagree with. Carson held little back, condemning political correctness as “a horrible thing” that is “dangerous,” as it hampers freedom of thought and expression.

“We’ve reached a point where people are actually afraid to talk about what they want to say, because somebody might be offended,” Carson said, noting the example of people refraining from saying “Merry Christmas.”“We’ve got to get over this sensitivity and it keeps people from saying what they really believe.”

I'm still waiting for the first cries of "Uncle Tom," from the reactionary "African-American" crew and the self-loathing white liberal brigade.

Just like the voices of the parents of the tradgies in Columbine, Virgina Tech and Sandy Hook, who stood up to the libtards in congress and stated gun control would not have saved thier children, were not allowed to be shown on any mainstream TV network , Youtube will be the only place you will see Dr. Carson's brillant speech. Obama is pathetic and a POS and the media cannot afford to show any dissent or common sense approaches to the bullshit obama spews! Especially from a black man. Obastard's face was absolutely fixed with rage and we all know it. How dare anyone question him or point out his absolute stupidity in his policies and beliefs. God help us.

Well Dr. Carson is obviously smart where Neurosurgery is concerned, but he should learn the meaning of free speech. You can pretty much say what you want all day long in this country (excepting libel, slander, and yelling, "Fire" for no reason in a crowded theater, etc.). But just as you can say pretty much anything you want, OTHER people can say what THEY want to say about what YOU said. People are NOT thrown in jail here for saying they don't like the President's Health Care Plan that is the LAW of the LAND! That is what it means to live in a free country. The government does not incarcerate you for speaking your mind. Sarah Palin was as big an idiot about that as Carson apparently is. He stood there talking down some of the policies of the President of the United States in the very room with him and then has the idiotic temerity to pretend he doesn't have free speech?!? Maybe he DID belong among the morons at FOX News after all. I used to think he was smart in general! Guess not. And I don't suppose his opposition to Obamacare has anything to do with Carson's own selfishness concerning his own pocketbook? Nah. That can't be it! Shaking my head.

Where did Dr. Carson say that people are thrown in jail for criticizing Obamacare? I watched his speech and he said no such thing. Your fervent, practically rabid, defense of Obamacare also tells me that you're as uninformed about it as you are about Dr. Carson's speech.
Naturally, as a leftist, you toss in the supposed insults of Fox News and Sarah Palin (a woman who seems to have gone quite a bit farther in life than you, dear.) You liberals are so dense you don't realize how weak your invective is.
Finally, as to Dr. Carson's motives, did you ever think for a minute that he's concerned about the quality of care diminishing under Obamacare? Because that's exactly what's going to happen. Instead, you play the leftist envy and "one percent" card. So predictable and so lame.
Try again, Kaitlyn. Use what little intellectual honesty you may possess next time.

And I'm shaking my head at the Congress members who got into health care stocks. No selfishness of pocketbook there!

I don't think Obama is clueless, his actions are not stupid, they exist to further his goals, and he's been quite successful in them.

Most "Socialists" don't consider Obama to be a socialist, I do, but I'm just a peanut chucker. It would be better to call him a "social democrat" a different European term, as "democratic socialist" may describe his true beliefs but he's done little in that area.

There you go again! Why is it you always label someone 'clueless ' because they don't agree with your narrative?
Obama is not at all 'clueless ',you clueless imbecile, he knows exactly what he's doing and have out maneuvered you so-called intellectual conservatives at every turn.
You dummies keep listning to the radio revolutionaries if you want to, but nothing they have told you has worked for your cause.

Obama's plans are just a little center left of what Nixon's were, and many other Republicans over the years. He's not a Communist, he's more of a socialist /globalist visionary who feels that those who have the wealth and power should use it to lift everyone up to at least a humane position in life.

Everyone doesn't have 'God given abilities ' to succeed. Most people are not naturally talented and need to realize the 'potential ' to become extraordinary.
With all the BS distractions and entertainment, it takes a very disciplined and determined individual to overcome those obsticles, as did the good DR.Carson, to realize their greatness.
I applaud his work and efforts, and if he's mentoring youth in the urban areas he gets extra cudos!

Why should he be mentoring youth in urban areas? The places are black run cesspools. He knows as well as you do that 99.9% of potential youths he'd mentor to would shoot him, rob him, and later break into his house. Why take that chance? You probably don't mentor "widsoming". But it makes one feel better by saying somebody should do more, like pay more taxes to throw at this vermin.
