Closing a McDonald's restaurant might not elicit protests in many neighborhoods, but South Linden residents say the loss there after 50 years is yet another blow to the struggling community.

"...In the year before it closed, Columbus police had been called there at least 53 times, mostly because of fights."
The area's residents have ZERO ability to create or sustain the social capital which modern civilization requires. And don't forget, these are obama.

I would have thoughtit most of the fights woukd be at Kentucky Fried Chicken, especially near closing time and they ran out of extra crispy.

Lots of quotes from the Area Commission, the Development Corp. and various community leaders.
Plenty of talking but not much doing.
Go away, Linden, you are just sad, old news.
You are failure.

Spook, I 'Judged It' Funny and Racy since it is a race based phenom we're discussing.
Now, back to the chicken...

What a disgusting bunch of racists posting here. I won't be reading here again.

It seems all they do is talk about how great it was, how it sucks now and the inevitable "somebody ought to do something". The "somebody ought to do something" hinges on somebody other than those quoted footing the bill. Sorry, but if the South Linden community won't support it why expect the taxpayer to fund improvements to it?

The only capital investment in the ghetto that seems to have merit is Buster Douglas Boxing in Windsor Terrance Projects / Ghetto. You almost never hear about it due to location, location, location but typically these sort of investments are highly non-profitable b/c of the clientele they serve.

Nothing says yummy like "restaurant in Linden".
They can blame their Arab Messiah for the fact that nobody can afford McDonalds anymore.
