Blah, blah, blah. Yeah, right - let's encourage people to suck the working public's teat for unemployment benefits instead of actually contributing SOMETHING. Psychological mumbo-jumbo crap. Quit whining and do what is necessary to support you and your families, if at all possible. Dang, I worked harder as a kid than most of the posters on this site do today, and the largest allowance I ever got was $1/week. Then I got (horrors!) a JOB, and with the exception of two months in which I felt guilty about drawing unemployment, have had a job for 35-plus years. Some have sucked - but I worked until I found something better. Mental health, my backside.....

just go hang out at your local DJFS. People are very proud to have never worked a job and lived off of the system the entire lives. It's a generational effect. People stay on wellfare, live in section 8 housing and never work. I used to be a case worker for DJFS and witnessed with thousands od people. I just love how the tea party people are saying that public employees are lazy and rip off tax payers.

I'm skeptical. Bad jobs suck. Not being able to pay the mortgage or the rent sucks a whole lot worse. Unless you're rich, quitting your job without another one can be the worst decision you'll ever make.

Quitting your job does not get you unemployment -- at least not in the vast majority of cases. You think there's a safety net out there that doesnt exist. But I agree that quit your job is dumb advice.

Great more reason for us lazy American's to go on welfare. Not looking for work for mental health reasons. When will that check box show up on the unemployment surveys?

Try it. You'll have an unpleasant surprise when you find out you arent eligible for welfare programs that are a figment of ignorant right wing imaginations.

What's not rewarding about working at a gas station. My mental health is at an all time high.
-All the free slupees I can drink
-Discounts on hot dogs and blunts
-My windshield is always clean

This survey is a crock.

Unemployment can't be any more boring than my job (not that I want the opportunity to find out).

How can a reputable newspaper print this crap? Yes, there are some who don't mind being out of work. They're lazy and don't want to work. There are many others who need to work and can't find a job. Collecting unemployment doesn't pay all the bills. Welfare programs don't do it, either. I'll take a bad boss and a paycheck anyday over looking for work and not finding it.

Who wants to bet that tax payer money funded this study? I doubt that any for profit organization would waste the time and/or money to study this topic!

The Unions indoctrinate employees that "The Boss" is out to get them......That the Company doesn't appreciate them...That they should be paid more because they deserve it.....And the Boss is rolling in money....
Union employees have little to no work ethic.....

Employees are brainwashed into believing that they can only be saved by the almighty Union.....

I was not happy at my last job and I walked out. I could not stand it any longer. I am not on welfare nor do I get a check. I have a savings and a husband who works fulltime.

You're not on welfare...You're on "Husbandfare".....

What if you were a single-mom...no man to support you??

Happy or not.....you have mouths to feed...
Would you be "unhappy-at-work" for your children???
