do the math your self.

3/8 is exactly 33.333333333333333333% larger than 1/4

any 5th grade student can fact check for you.

you ought be quite embarrassed for proving yet again, how foolish and ignorant you are.

Not quite. 3/8 is 50% larger than 1/4 (think: What do you have to do to 1/4 to make it 3/8?.... add 50% of 1/4). 1/4, however, is one third smaller than 3/8.

In this case, you are wrong.

1/3 larger than 1/4 is 1/3. Do it on your calculator..

So what you are trying to say is that 1/8 which is the difference between 2/8 and 3/8....... is 1/3 (or 33%) of 3/8.

3/8-1/4= 3/8-2/8
=1/8
1/8= 33% of 3/8
33%=1/3

Therefore, you are to claiming that 1/4 is 1/3 less then 3/8 (using 3/8 as the qualifying value) but 3/8 is not 1/3 more then 1/4 (using 1/4 or 2/8 as the qualifying value).

I think this is an exercise in semantics. It's about like "how far can a dog run into the woods". It relies on distinct meanings of specific statements to qualify the statement.

Right. It's "what do you have to do to the former to get the latter". What you have to do to 1/4 to get 3/8 is add 50%.

I understand that 1/8 is 50% of 1/4 inch.....

I guess it is a question of perspective and what RS originally said.

I did not see his original verbiage.

3/8 is .375 of 1 inch
1/8 is .125 of 1 inch
1 third of .375 equals .125
2 thirds of .375 equal .250
Of course if you add one more third you get…….375 of 1 inch…….

Adding 1/8 of an inch is an increase of 50% of original thickness, but is only 1/3 of the total strength of 3/8 inch steel.

It's also the same problem people have understanding that the rich, even of they pay the same percent of taxes, pay more in taxes. 10% of 100 is less then 10% of 10,000 no matter what way you look at it. This is why I laugh at the clueless people who automatically say those with more should pay more as if it is some profound revelation.. they do already pay more.

<quoted text>Don't write things that confirm you are a complete idiot. The bible wasn't written in English, it has been translated into languages we now use and understand. Until recently, these translations have been strictly controlled but now any tome dick or harry can translate the bible, print and publish it, and they will have to make them all slightly different in order to get around perpetual copyright terms.
Even in the KJV, simply reading the bible was not enough to completely grasp it, you needed some knowledge of the languages it was translated from. This is why you need to study the bible and understand what it is saying verses the atheists who skim it with absolutely no clue
Your comment either was an attempt at trolling, or you seriously are a complete moron who shouldn't be talking at all, let alone about the bible.
That's great. You have to write this long post about how the Bible has been translated into English and there are all of these different translations and anybody with a pen and paper can produce one, and in the same post you say I need to study the Bible.

Which one? You guys can't even agree on which Bible is the real one yet you insist that it is the divine word of God and want to make everybody live according to what it says. You would think that God would get his shit together and publish a definitive version.
