Not likely. There are people today who don't believe we landed on the moon.

"Some of you may know that I am neither Christian nor Jewish nor Buddhist, nor a conventionally religious person of any sort.
I am a humanist, which means, in part, that I have tried to behave decently without any expectation of rewards or punishments after I'm dead. My German-American ancestors, the earliest of whom settled in our Middle West about the time of our Civil War, called themselves "Freethinkers," which is the same sort of thing. My great grandfather Clemens Vonnegut wrote, for example, "If what Jesus said was good, what can it matter whether he was God or not?"
I myself have written, "If it weren't for the message of mercy and pity in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, I wouldn't want to be a human being. I would just as soon be a rattlesnake."

Sorry, but humanism is officially recognized as a religion in the form of Unitarian Universalism.

So...you've given up on the "gay gene."
Good thinking as even DNA microarray technology has failed to identify one.
However, if you consider one non-normative sexual behavior to be the result of a natural condition, then logic compels you to consider all as the same.
"non-normative"???

I say your overzealous need to control what consenting adults do with their own bodies is "non-normative". Whattaya think of that?

The "merciful" and the "peacemakers" do not generally find themselves at the mercy of a jury.

This proves my contention you engage in circular reasoning.
Are you one of those idiots who drives without a seatbelt and never goes to a doctor because god will take care of you?
You're a little slow on the uptake, eh, paleface?

The point was that all worldviews are based on differing assumptions of truth, meaning that all attempt to impose their particular "truths" upon society.

Those who attempt to construct morality from anything other than the natural law -- as bestowed upon creation by the Creator -- are engaged in self-deception.

Moral relativists are absolutely sure there are no absolutes.
Ironically, the one who denies them values the absolute right to deny them.

"Natural law" and "god" are all in the mind. If we don't perceive it or imagine it, it doesn't exist. So you believe what you believe and so does everyone else.

You didn't answer my question.

I do not want to control anyone.
I am merely acknowledging observable facts.

That's quite an utterly insupportable comment, given that Mr. Vonnegut was quite opinionated, and wrote and spoke extensively upon a wide variety of subjects during his lifetime.

Pssssssst.....(he was far smarter than you).

Well..the laws that legislators are bound by derive from legislators and Constitutions as well.

American Constitutions derive from a variety of sources. Why don't you start naming them, and see if you can include them all?

Yet there are a whole lot of people out there who also have eyes and they see observable facts that you don't care to acknowledge.

Imagine that!!!
