Just because it smells its not a health risk? Ok, but---is it fair for these people to have to smell this crap? And how do they sell houses here with this stinking smell? It STINKS!!!!

Mayor Mike will fix it! He'll have a hydrant turned on, or ride a bike. Just watch. Columbus is so lucky to have Mayor Mike!

The residents are the source of the odor. Try taking a shower.

Go golfing at The Phoenix - what a deal ... for $41 bucks you can see downtown in all it's glory, the dump across the road on Jackson Pike, and maybe even catch cancer while you're at it! Nothing like methane poles stickin up out of the ground all over the course too ... I mean it's comical!

That smell has been there for YEARS. I remember mayor Moody spent THOUSANDS on a study back in the 70's to find out where the smell was coming from and the stinch is still there. I understand that things are not done over night, but this smell has been going on for 40 years. Who in the hell in Wilkinson trying to BS? What a liar he is!!!!!

Maybe the Sanimax plant would smell better if they got rid of the stinky, smelly residents of the south side and Grovetucky. They need to scrub the Hilltop and west side too.

Mie Wiles, you need to put your brain in gear before opening your mouth. You said, "Mike Wiles, who is a South Side resident and Columbus school-board member, said he wants the former plant site to be used for housing or businesses." I'll be willing to bet you haven't been around the old Sanimax site much - if at all. Maybe your nose is broken?

This other statement, "Just because a place smells doesn't mean it's a health risk, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency spokesman Adam Ward said.' I can remember the Ohio EPA stating, less than a year ago, that, "if it smells, it is probably pollution." Oooppsss....

Let's step out of our air conditioning and find out what is happening in the real world! If that site still stinks, it is because there is something there to make it stink.

Perhaps it could be made easier to fix the problem than to talk to the air? Our neighborhoods aren't going to put up with abuse much longer. Wake up folks!

Well as the saying goes...

Who smelt it dealt it..

As others have pointed out, it's not like this is a new issue. It's been there for years and it was there when they moved in. And I can tell you, it is improving every year and is NOTHING like it was in years past.

Historically, the side of a town that is downriver, typically south or east, east of the continental divide, is where all of the unsavory industries reside, hence the odor.

Some zoning regulation permits do not allow foul odors to emanate from a property. You would think this would be included in the zoning for property near a residential neighborhood for the protection of those people living nearby.

It has been that way for decades. The housing in the area is less expensive because of it. Everyone that lives there moved in with the knowledge of stank roads existence or they turned a blind eye to it. Now they want us to spend money to "clean it up". Maybe we should replumb the entire city so we can move the poop processing plant?

Ms. Mills is clearly an eco-moron. She wants "green" jobs. How about ANY jobs?

I think it smells good. Call me weird but I like that smell of rotting horses in the morning. Can't get enough of the horses: If you can't ride em I just love the smell of them
