I explained it fully! I don't hate anyone, I didn't grow up to be subservient and inferior to whites in my thinking. A lot of Toms who grew up during the 40's and 50's were. Do you think it was Toms who got the police batons and tear gas, so that my generation could be equal under the constitution? Naw, they looked out the window, ate the cornbread and sipped cold tea.<quoted text>
You have conveniently ignored the catalyst.
Remember the movie Glory? The scene where the union army captain's childhood friend was the Tom? Well, the "Tom" tried to reminisce about the "good ole days" when he and the captain were boys, sitting by the fireplace reading Hawthorne. The captain told him to get his black ass on the front line with the rest of the #iggers. Some friend, huh? That happened during the last scene before they charged the fort. Denzel Washington's character was the kind of resistant spirit you seen in the civil rights movement.
I'm glad that MLK had that spirit (true Christian brotherhood) and not the spirit of a Thomas Sowell, or a Ward Connerly! We'd still be in chains if the Clarence Thomas types had to lead. Thank God they were not leaders!!
