people have lied in court for years (since court began) thats why they passed a perjury law. but i heard no mention of that in this article., how is this anything but handpicked b/s news? DISPATCH, please produce an article about how many laws are on the books and which ones are actually enforced. i know, i went 1 step further here (she wasn't in court yet), so i'd settle for a false police report charge. am i wrong?

You are correct, but the lesson here would be to stay out of the bars after midnight? Why do people feel they need to be out at 3:20 in the morning drinking, the only thing to come out this type of behavoir is exactly what happened. Going out for a few drinks and dancing or shooting pool is one thing, but to be out acting like an a88 because people can't handle their liquor and pulling a gun to resolve issue is plain stupid. Now a person is dead and the shooter is getting away with it because two bieotchs lied.

My thoughts and prayers are with William's mother and family.

You are right ... it is getting really easy to murder someone and get by with it. Look at all the other cases dropped even though everyone knows they are guilty it doesn't matter. I can only hope there will be justice sooner or later.

God bless!

A night club called "Lollipop West" doesn't exactly sound like a place where Republicans and members of the NRA hang out.

Fool, it is not legal gun owners who have completed the CCW class you need to be concerned with.

It is the thugs that kill like in this situation. A legal CCW permit holder could have stopped this criminal.

Speaking of the wild west how about the hood. That need to be the focus.

Yep, the law that he couldn't carry a gun into a bar really helped here didn't it? Don't be stupid...the only people that will follow ANY law are law abiding citizens....the thugs will still carry the guns wherever they want and no law is going to stop them. All the law abiding person can hope for is the opportunity to protect themselves.

I do believe purjury is committed under oath. If the person who lied was not under oath, then no purjury was committed. Since she was not the "reporting person" in the police report, then a false report charge probably wouldn't stand. She may be guilty of some sort of obstructing charge, but in any event, the prosecutor has the burden of proof. If he can't prove the elements of the case, he can't move forward. Don't blame the Dispatch for this one. They reported the information they have. If you're interested on the laws that are on the books, go to Lawwriter and take a look. If you can decipher the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), good luck. It's written in lawyer-ese and sometimes confusing for a lay person to figure out.

Wow, and I thought the Cleveland PD was the only major police department in Ohio to submit bungled invesitgations to a grand jury.
