The federal government plans to investigate an Arizona high school over a "Redneck Day" celebration two months ago that was inspired by the popular Duck Dynasty television show on A&E.
According to the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights, the investigation will be "limited to whether a racially hostile environment was created due to language and actions that were not protected by the First Amendment."
As Fox News notes, students at Queens Creek High School on May 1 were encouraged to "dress like members of the reality show cast, but instead it was seen as offensive when students arrived at the school in stereotypical clothing."
Civil rights activists pointed to one student who was pulled aside and asked to change his Confederate flag attire as a sign that the day created a "racially hostile" environment. The DOE's office of Civil Rights said, "the display of the Confederate flag concerns rights protected by the First Amendment."
Rev. Jarrett Maupin told the Associated Press that the Department of Education will "determine the remedy, including moderating conversations between school administrators and civil rights community leaders to shape new policy and racism prevention measures."
Tom Lindsey, the superintendent of the Queen Creek Unified School District, said the day's events were meant to satirize Duck Dynasty, boost school spirit, and insisted there was "no ill intent." He apologized to people who may have been offended by the word "redneck."

FBI hasn’t contacted a single tea party group in IRS probe, groups say

There is no evidence that the FBI has contacted a single tea party group in its criminal investigation of the Internal Revenue Service, according to the groups the IRS abused.

“We have not been contacted by any federal investigative agency and, to date, none of our clients have been contacted or interviewed by the FBI,” Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice told The Daily Caller on Thursday. The ACLJ has filed suit against the IRS on behalf of 25 conservative groups, with additional groups being added in the next couple weeks, according to a spokesman.

“I have been very surprised that I have not heard from anybody and frankly, none of my clients have. I talk to other tea party leaders on a regular basis,” said Cleta Mitchell, the lawyer largely credited with pushing the IRS abuses to the forefront.

Why do they need a redneck day. Why learn how to fish , hunt, live off the land, when everybody is going to go to college and be some big shot that makes salary working in an office all day? I remember they had vocational classes in my high school. They were offered by another school who rented the space. The other teachers whined so much about it preventing kids from wanting to take academic classes that they voted to kick the vocational classes out. The next year the school went bankrupt and had to push for a levy each year following to the present day. I had kids with 4.0 gpa right next to me in my vocational class. Quite a few of them could've graduated early but decided to take the vocational classes too, and then went on to college. In fact one of them got a degree in ergonomics, and he was working with me for about a year before he found another job in that field.

Apparently the FBI has the time and resources to investigate some teenagers for a spoof day about Duck Dynasty reality show rednecks.

But when it comes to the IRS scandal etc. the FBI and the Fed just can seem to get around to it.

Well then I doubt if you will have to worry about the FBI investigating YOU then.

I assume you only want to assassinate "white" rednecks.

Good. School admins get a taste of their own "zero tolerance" policies courtesy the feds. Hope the "remedy" is as overboard as the ZTP's.

You're talking like "redneck" is a derogatory word. My neck is red because I work outside a lot.

Are you familiar with the word "work"?
