Very nice, but this article didn't address my question. So one more time, what middle-class programs were cut? Cut..... meaning less money appropriated towards them. Cut, as in less people able to take advantage of the program or less benefits being paid out.
What this article is about is our government programs running out of money. It's something the Republicans have been warning people about for decades. It's something the Democrats have been lying to people about for decades, telling us nothing is wrong; don't worry; it's fear tactics by the Republicans.
here's a better question that answers that. Are they going to stop collecting the money through pay roll taxes? NO! Will those taxes increase for all work ing americans? YES!
Democrats lie and republicans scare people? With what the truth about what's going on with ssi? That's rich.maybe rick perry...

Wow look at all the new corporate tax loopholes in the "cliff deal". I'm sure we urgently needed to build a nascar track. For obamas voters.
And let's see which ones they will close, since they haven't closed any adding to the deficit problem. I bet they close some that are mysteriously just like the new ones they put in the "cliff" deal.
Besides, its not a good idea to lower the corporate tax rate just yet. Since last year was not an economic recovery ( somehow we were told that by the media untill november then it was a fiscal cliff) they actually get more back with all their little loopholes. Who knows with the new ones just added without closing the old ones, could've been planned. If they can hold off on the debt limit plan untill the irs is done with their taxes this year they might enjoy double loopholes as obama only promises to close old ones in the debt ceiling "negotiations". The fat lady has not sung.

"The financial services industry, whose leaders had earlier joined a group of other corporate executives pushing for a "fair" solution to the fiscal crisis, is one of the primary beneficiaries of special-interest tax breaks. The active-financing exception, for example, permits banks like Morgan Stanley to avoid the 35 percent U.S. corporate tax rate on interest income from money lent overseas. A handful of other U.S.-based multinational companies with financing arms, such as Ford Motor Co. and General Electric, also use that exemption to lower their tax bills. The two-year cost to taxpayers is an estimated $11.2 billion, according to the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation."

Oops more like a few trillion it will cost us. Loaning all that money out at no interest, tax free? Think its gonna be paid back in inflated dollars? What did they back it with? Bad mortgages? Maybe if the euro keeps beating the dollar...oh they can pay us back in euros then.

I want a Governor who is honest. Kasich is FAR from honest. He supports judges and officials to work a their JOBS with NO NO NO oaths of office. I know I submitted this to John 3 times but they REFUSE to do anything which the ORC gives him COMPLETE control to do.....

They keep saying they exist and are correct but they REFUSE to give me copies which are PUBLIC RECORDS.

Therefore they are refusing the people their public records and have lost the transparency promised to "the people". We have entered the anti christs empire......

The Euro hasn't even been around the 1:1 range for the dollar in almost a decade, let alone surpassed it's value.

Democrats lie and republicans scare people? With what the truth about what's going on with ssi? That's rich.maybe rick perry...
The Republicans are the only people being honest about SS. Democrats keep saying "Oh, don't worry about it. Everything is under control." Currently, we are paying more money out to SS recipients than we are taking in, and this slow economy for the next four years will not help much.

As much as l love the extra money, there should have never been a SS reduction in the first place. It's DumBama's way of looking good even though he is just making the problem worse for representatives in the future. Now according to many in the MSM, it's all the Republicans fault. They are more than happy to print how much it cost us when we reduce taxes for the wealthy, but never how much DumBama robbed SS by reducing deductions.

I say we pay for SS and in fact, even increase the contributions. I say we should double our contributions to Medicare as well. If people want these programs, let them pay for them. Why didn't our politicians come up with that solution? Because if we funded these programs properly, it would cause many to side with moving those programs out of government and into the private sector. Democrats will have none of that. So they lie to us and lie to us and say everything is just fine. Don't worry about it. We'll tax the rich or borrow more money.

Trust me, that's not our biggest problem in Ohio. How honest was Strickland? He ran us into a debt of 8 billion dollars and didn't address it at all.

Now we have a governor who is honest with the people. We are broke, and something has to be done. So now we eliminated that debt and brought jobs to Ohio to the point our unemployment is well under the national level.

If you want to get rid of Kasich, start losing jobs again, start having more people out of work, go back into debt so you can get judges to take oaths of office, then nobody is stopping you. As for myself, my priorities for this state are more pragmatic. If it's not broke, don't fix it. The problem in our country is that when we get politicians that actually benefit the state or country, we throw them out of office.

Do you mean like Obama's 20 something Czars & their entire support staffs? Or Obama's promised transparency that might as well be a brick wall? Or Eric Holder that ignores Federal laws as he chooses? Or even ICE that does NOT do their own lawful job? Or would it be the US Senate that has not put a single budget bill up for vote as they are OBLIGATED to do, since April 2009?
No need to go on.
And politicians wonder why they have low public esteem.

What a shiddy plan. They just raised taxes on 77% of americans, cut programs that help the middle class, and it still won't be deficit neutral. Especially with all the spending. I know its republicans fault, well obama signed it too. Maybe when the deficit gets worse obama can just blame the guy who served the last term. Oh yeah.
you don't really think there are 77% of the folks in this country who earn over 450,ooo. a year do ya

He's referring to the payroll tax, which returned to 6.2%. The average American worker is now taking home $38 less per two week pay period.

its supposed to be invested kinda like a govt bond (ssi) and with interest rates so low it dosent grow at a healthy rate. That's why they say there isn't enough there. I've heard maybe 2 "republicans" be honest about it. http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/t...

the campaign is over. Time for the truth. No corporate loopholes closed. Higher taxes for all who pay. Austerity measures for the elderly. Its republicans fault. We urgently needed a new nascar track and they just couldn't come to an agreement on that so obama had to sign in a bunch of tax increases for the middle class and more tax loopholes for huge corporations, not touching the corporate tax rate at all. We might have went over a cliff had he not. Teeheeehe!

and most of them need it more than the federal reserve needs to give out loans tax free to europe. At zero interest! We need it more than corporations need more tax loopholes.

President Obama Nominates Chuck Hagel and John Brennan:
President Barrack Obama nominates Chuck Hagel defense secretary and John Brennan to lead Central Intelligence Agency. Won’t enable President Obama and Congress to avoid fiscal cliff; balance every budget, or stop President, Governor, Representatives of US the Government, County Commissioners, Township Trustees, Mayors, City Council, School Administrators and Board Members.
From holding Union workers, consumers, taxpayers, and America’s grandchildren’s children, Government employees, Parents, Teachers, Veterans, Police, Firemen, and Fathers disqualified for affirmative action with white skin, Representatives deny Collective Bargaining Rights accountable.
To fund Illegal drug users and Immigrants, lottery, casino, and keno losers, unemployed Union workers replaced with nonunion workers, Human Traffickers, waitresses that pander for life for $2.00 per hour, slaves in tax abated enterprise zones, low-income child labor, consumers, and taxpayers, volunteers without wages, and nonunion workers willing to work for fewer wages than they can afford life. That pays with welfare checks, food stamps, housing vouchers, and Medicaid.
Pay property tax on state appraised value of their American Dream to fund schools. Pay bank interest on purchase price of American Dream for 30 years. Pay interest on lottery winners winnings Legislators invest in school bonds, Pay for all stimulus packages, tax abatements, tax incentives, tax refunds, tax credit, and tax exemptions.
Pay sales tax on the more stock dividends (money) OPEC Nations, Enron Stockholders, Wal-Mart Stockholders, Hillarys, Chinese, Foreign and Domestic Investors and Stockholders (money marketers) market quarterly. In the wholesale and retail price of every product and service Human Beings use for life. And School Boards and Government needs to build, maintain and operate schools, infrastructure, and provide local and national security, and Government services. That gets only product or service.
Needed to measure and maintain the strength and growth of this UNAFFORDABLE economy and distribute money Human Beings cannot digest, burn in internal combustion engines, or burn to heat and cool their American Dream. Into OPEC Nations, Enron Stockholders, Wal-Mart Stockholders, Hillarys, Chinese, Foreign and Domestic Investors and Stockholders portfolios.
USA Labor Law, The Constitution, and demands of Natural Law: what Mother Nature, God, or Whatever Power decreed to be the reality of the real world, democracy, capitalism, the US Constitution, and free, fair, and affordable commerce and common sense demands.
Demands every Stockholder, corporation, farmer, business, outsourcer sweatshop, and nonprofit, tax-exempt, organization and Church; markets the cost in the wholesale and retail price of his or her product and service; of every worker, consumer, and taxpayer's wages (union contract), healthcare, pension, investment and independent business profit.
This enables every worker, consumer, and taxpayer to pay healthcare insurance premium or pay healthcare provider. Pay ALL taxes and pay for every product and service they use for life. With money derived from wages, investment profit, and independent business profit.
And enables every parent to educate, love, nurse, nurture, discipline, protect, and provide; for every child (job) they conceive. And fund schools, infrastructure, local and national security, government services, and etc.; with money derived from wages, investment profit, and independent business profit.
Defying USA Labor Law, the Constitution, and Realities demands created Ohio’s $1.35 trillion budget deficit, the $40 trillion social security and the $16 trillion national debt. America’s grandchildren’s children are responsible to pay Chinese, Foreign and Domestic Investors and Stockholders interest with this debt until they are 18 years old. America’s grandchildren cannot pay this debt in a hundred million years.
