"This is one of the most stunning upsets in modern American political history," Sabato said. "This is the base rebelling against the GOP leadership in Washington, as represented by Eric Cantor.

"Everybody agrees that if immigration reform was on life support before, they're pulling out the plugs" because no other House Republican will want to end up like Cantor, Sabato said.

Fox News Political Editor Chris Stirewalt said Brat's election means comprehensive immigration reform is "dead meat."

I often call such low lifes 'govsuckers'.
What is wrong with that? NOTHING Putz. You can not legitimately embarrass, denigrate or tick me off for staying OFF of YOUR & my tax dollars & YOU want to try to belittle me or insult me? What an unwarranted, unappreciate putz you are. I carry my weight as best as I can.
YOU should feel like the insulted one. YOU are dirt IF you truly believe what you have said.
I am so happy that we do not share the same family tree with you. That knowledge makes not only my day but my life. Jack Wagon!
Amen.

These libs love criticizing everybody else, don't they? Yet there are here day and night trying to convince all of us they have some sort of honest income.

I respect a person who sweeps a floor or lands a jetliner at an airport. A working person is a person that has pride. A person that can live off of his or her own income and provide for their family is a person of integrity.

Given the fact that I am in work where I get to meet and talk with a lot of people, I can honestly say that most if not all working people detest those that live on the dole or otherwise depend on government for something. Yet when I talk to liberals, they all claim to be independently supported, work from home or otherwise have a job where they can play on the internet all day long. Then they cry for the so-called unfortunate that stay home all day long and live off of working people. Why does this not make sense?

The funny thing is that I never talk to liberals on the internet that have a blue collar job. None of them do.....so they claim. I guess you and I are the only ones in this forum that do have these types of jobs, yet are ridiculed here by those that don't.

<quoted text> Very lucid, but answer this please, & I am not being onery, just asking, where is the subject of marriage in the constitution? I could have missed it since I usually refer to a condensed version & not the entire thing.
Now if the issue before SCOTUS is that of one state NOT recognizing the lawful marriage of another state, I understand. But to tell one state, any individual state that their state constitution banning gay marriage, incest or what ever is unconstitutional is not their jurisdiction.
Yes, it is. When people have disagreements about what is or is not constitutional, the FINAL decision comes from SCOTUS. You may not like it, but there's really not much you can do about it.

Take note leftists??? Cantor was very conservative, but still not conservative enough for the tea party.

I thought he was right on when he said this:

“It’s easy to say that you’re going to stand up to Obama and the left-wing attack machine, but it is an entirely different thing to actually do it,” a combative Cantor said,“to actually do it, to stand up and be counted.”

The SCOTUS doesn't have the final say, otherwise it wouldn't be an equal branch of the govt, it would be the most powerful branch.

Unfortunately, it is. That's why I liked Newt Gingrich's idea of holding the SC justices accountable for their decisions.

The republicans lost an arrogant smug RINO that was just waiting for the Speaker job, and the establishment in his control.

Expect America to fire all these people who have been there, because they are the problem, and disregard any solution that is not political gain for the personally.

Cantor was there 14 years. He was the problem.

Glad to see the RINO gone.

America is firing every establishment politician, and preparing for impeachment trials ito begin in January.

voter turnout in wicked thunderstorms was up 1/3rd over 2012, and 2010.

your Dems who signed bills without reading them are going to have long faces in November, and all the RINO's too.

Boehner won't be speaker when next congress is seated, and you can expect a Tea Party speaker.

Your gods are being aborted, and it is about time real americans stood up.

PS: did you notice that Mr. Brat holds a Masters in Divinity?

what is dead unlike all your useless predictions, is the progressive movement.

Tea Party Speaker. Impeachment Trials beginning January 2015. The list keeps getting longer and longer.

(The increase in turnout was closer to a quarter than it was a third. I know how important arithmetic is to you.)

Yet you support the ideals of white collar idiots that constantly attack the blue collar workers. The attacks on labor are openly obvious, you are just not smart enough to see them. Pay attention to the tactics of ALEC, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Grover Norquist and the Koch Brothers. It's funny how you call a pension a welfare check. That allows me to get on here whenever I want and it was earned doing nothing but heavy construction. Most of those men I worked with said that anybody who carries a lunch bucket and a thermos bottle to work everyday would be an idiot to vote for a Republican. You'll never learn any of that from O'Really or Rush.

The Republicans have lost a smart, young member of their leadership.
this is the 1st time in History the house majority leader lost a primary.

John Boehner will not be speaker after November elections.

America is sick and tired of career politicians ignoring them, and Cantor serving 14 years makes him part of the problem.

It is easy to stand up to the left wing attack machine, but takes bravery.

Go to you tube and watch Trey Gowdy do exactly that time and time again. Ted Cruze was the only elected representative that put his career on the line with an all night protest against Obamacare.

I hope America replaces incumbents with freshman from both parties, and hits the reset button.

Congress makes laws, and needs to enforce them with extreme prejudice

Impeachment trials and jail terms need to take place the day after the new congress is seated.

Do you stand by your prediction on the other thread that Ted Cruze (sic) will be the next Speaker of the House?

Ah Ted Cruz the American- the Canadian born Latino representing Texas, that reinvented himself as an immigrant-hating southern white supremacist. He is nothing more than a pure sleazy televangelist shaking people down for money and support without offering anything in return. Who's kooky daddy claims him to be the next messiah.
