Up, up, and away Super Mutt. Far from where facts, intelligence, history and scientific discovery can touch you. Shake hands with Donald Rumsfeld while your in your denial bubble. His hand might still have a little Saddam Hussein left on it from back when he was grinning like a jack@ss and shaking it like a patriot. You know. "Good guy" stuff. As far as me "lying", I can tell you are new here. Since everything I post has Canton under it, this will be easy for you. Go ahead and copy and paste anything I have posted that is a lie. Give us a direct link where all can see I am a liar, as you keep mindlessly blurting out. As far as your repeated homophobic insults you keep adding to your posts, let me know if you need a direct link to the proven study that shows the most outspoken homophobes, like you and most of your Patriot fellas, got chubbies when shown gay porn. I think you personally would find the study very, and I do mean VERY revealing. Also, let me know if you want to see a video of GW Bush making jokes about the WMDs they never found that our American soldiers died for. Just an all around likable chap. Then we can pop some corn and watch Tea Party darling and one of many in the party that drops Jesus's name like they're BFFs, as she wh0rz out God for a pipeline, by declaring it's "God's will" that they build it. What makes her neat is the fact that she is getting paid by oil billionaires as she taps into the same old money Conservative Bible voters that inflicted GW Bush on America for 8 years.

Totally agree. But then extremist of any position would have the same attitude. Extremist can NOT tolerate any differing point of view.
Like suicide bombers are NOT mainstream Islamist. BUT main stream Islamist are afraid of Fatwahs by the extremist & tend to keep their mouths shut.
I am amazed the Salman Rusdie is still alive. He Must have excellent security!
We can NOT bow to the NUTS just because we are intimitated by fear of death. That is what 'THEY' count on.
Personally I would rather die fighting for freedom than live as a chicken. I have lived most of my life as a free person & would rather fight & die for the freedom of my progeny than be a pu$$y.
Don't get me wrong & think that I want to die but some things are worth fighting for no matter the personal outcome.
If WE pass away from natural causes but leave a toilet of things for our kids, grandkids etc, WHY were we here? I have HONOR & convictions to improve life & a better society for my progeny.

I see, so the current democrat isn't much different than the original southern democrat? They can't physically enslave blacks any longer, so they just want to financially enslave us all. Yeah, that sounds about right, they would be satisfied with a 100% tax rate so they can dole out food, clothes and shelter.
No thanks.
IF one can find a copy of the book written by James Meredith one would find that even tho he is black, he is against 'affirmative action' because it enslaves the minority (mainly blacks) & creates a level of under achievements.
Affirmative action CREATES a double standard instead of simply 'STANDARDS'. Think about that.

You're in good company. The founders put everything, including their lives, on the line for freedom, and many of them lost it all. They did it not just for themselves, but for future generations.

Hopefully things will get straightened out before it's too late, but if not, give me liberty or give me death.

Old Guy, haven't you read that the ice core studies, although interesting, are just guesswork? It's impossible to say how old a certain core is.
No, I haven't read that, Super Mutt, except on creation science websites. And then it always seems to be coming from someone like you, with no training in science, just an anti-science ax to grind. I really don't care about your personal opinions about science because you have repeatedly demonstrated that you are ignorant of basic facts that you should have learned in high school.

What I HAVE read is that ice core studies have a high level of reliability, and that's what makes them useful research tools. Here's a recent scientific paper that discusses these issues. I don't expect you to read it, or understand it, because I doubt you have either the inclination to read it or the intelligence to understand it.

"An accurate chronology of Dome Fuji and Vostok ice core records, with dating accuracy better than ~2 kyr, has been established for the past 400 kyr and is consistent with the Milankovitch theory for the sequence of 100-kyr climatic cycles."

Yeah, I DO remember the ozone scare. It was when "those scientists that are wrong all the time" correctly predicted that chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) could damage the earth's ozone layer. Because of the subsequent discovery of a hole in the ozone layer, the nations of the world created the Montreal Protocol, which banned CFCs. The scientists that correctly predicted the ozone depletion received the Nobel Prize for their research.

Where do you get your misinformation from? Like Super Mutt, you make wild claims, but never offer any reputable sources for your misguided notions.

"On June 28, 1974, Sherry Rowland and Mario Molina, chemists at the University of California, Irvine, published the first scientific paper warning that human-generated chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) could cause serious harm to Earth's protective ozone layer (Molina and Rowland, 1974). They calculated that if CFC production continued to increase at the going rate of 10%/year until 1990, then remain steady, CFCs would cause a global 5 to 7 percent ozone loss by 1995 and 30-50% loss by 2050.

They warned that the loss of ozone would significantly increase the amount of skin-damaging ultraviolet UV-B light reaching the surface, greatly increasing skin cancer and cataracts. The loss of stratospheric ozone could also significantly cool the stratosphere, potentially causing destructive climate change. Although no stratospheric ozone loss had been observed yet, CFCs should be banned, they said. At the time, the CFC industry was worth about $8 billion in the U.S., employed over 600,000 people directly, and 1.4 million people indirectly (Roan, 1989).

Critics and skeptics--primarily industry spokespeople and scientists from conservative think tanks--immediately attacked the theory. Despite the fact that Molina and Rowland's theory had wide support in the scientific community, a handful of skeptics, their voices greatly amplified by the public relations machines of powerful corporations and politicians sympathetic to them, succeeded in delaying imposition of controls on CFCs for many years. However, the stunning discovery of the Antarctic ozone hole in 1985 proved the skeptics wrong. Human-generated CFCs were indeed destroying Earth's protective ozone layer. In fact, the ozone depletion was far worse than Molina and Roland had predicted. No one had imagined that ozone depletions like the 50% losses being observed by 1987 over Antarctica were possible so soon. Despite the continued opposition of many of the skeptics, the Montreal Protocol, an international agreement to phase out ozone-destroying chemicals, was hurriedly approved in 1987 to address the threat."

"Molina and Rowland were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1995. The citation from the Nobel committee credited them with helping to deliver the Earth from a potential environmental disaster."

You are correct about scientists being wrong all the time. I remember when they said we were having unusual amounts of forest fires and it's totally unnatural. Later they discovered that forest fires are natures way of rejuvenating the forest. Afterwards, they would still put out the fires to save homes and whatnot, but the government restarted them again under more controlled conditions.
Remember the Ozone scare? It was worse than the climate change scare. We had to change our underarm deodorants and anything that contained fluorocarbons. Later they discovered that these holes were quite natural and man had little to do with making them. Every time lightning strikes the earth, it creates more ozone.
I think there are a lot of us that enjoy fear. After all, why do we drive to the movie theater and watch a horror flick or go to haunted houses during October? Why do we travel so far to amusement parks and hop on the highest most scariest roller coaster? I'm 53 years old now, and I can't recall a time in my life where the forces were not trying to scare you into something. If it's not the bird flu, it's aliens from outer space. If it's not aliens from outer space, it's ghosts, if it's not ghosts, it's rising or lowering of the ocean, if it's not the rising and lowering of the ocean, it's worldwide droughts, if not that, it's global warming now climate change.
I always picture our country in about a hundred or so years from now. The teacher will be teaching her children how in the early 2,000's, man thought he could control the climate, and the class bursts out in laughter as we did when our teachers taught us that primitive man thought the earth was flat, and if you go to far, you'll fall off.
You drive a fricking truck for a living and claim all scientists are wrong all of the time. You have a serious delusional problem. I have seen many a highly paid white-collar workers that have a ton more education than you, have to FALL BACK to truck driving to support their families after being caught up in downsizing. I know a lot of tradesmen in my craft that carry a CDL to FALL BACK on when work slows down. Almost anybody can drive a truck and it's far from a glamorous way to make a living and don't take a whole lot of edumication either. How many times are you allowed to flunk the test that they let you keep trying at? Last I heard it was quite a few times. If you hang yourself with a rope enough times, you tend how to learn to do it better each time.

Honestly, Old Guy, I don't know what your problem is with simple science and commonsense. Did you read the article you linked to? In the first paragraph:

"In order to understand further the roles of both orbital and greenhouse gas forcings on climate changes, and to test Milankovitch forcing as the driver for the 100-kyr cycles seen in the ice core proxies, one would need paleoclimate chronologies with accuracy better than ~2 kyr"

The rest of the article was peppered with "may be" and "could have". Those aren't words people use when they can prove something.

Below is a link to an article on a GOVERNMENT website, which talks about the inaccuracies of ice core testing. Ignore, if you think the govt has a creation science agenda.
http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/reports/triest...

It talks about exactly what I said before. There was no real-time data collected long ago, so scientists haven't been able to date, for certain, the layers of the cores.

Now, the following is another one of my opinions, so be prepared to disregard it ... something to consider is that, if there were previous episodes of warming, and layers of ice melted, the core-dating process would be further complicated. Just a thought.
