Can't the horny children be INSTRUCTED,harshly if necessary,that "If you________,and don't use_________or _________;
you're young ayss is going to__________
AND YOUR LIFE WILL BE SKA-ROOD,FOR-EVER!

The horn dogs and sockets of insecurity that won't or can't learn from the admonition above, those that comprise "Babies Makin' Babies",not only need Vasectomies and Tubals;their bumbling STUPIDITY is a harbinger of the future burden on Society that they are NOW and cries out for LOBOTOMIES and mandatory low-skill assembly line work, until they die---childless.

How many of these pregnant teens are going to have half black, mexican, or central american offspring? While I have no problem with black and white getting married and then having kids but out of wedlock ones leave the kids in a more fubar situtation than non mixed kids without a dad.

So the moral from above is if little susie thinks it will be fun to the big black trouser snake from crack dealer Leon Lamar she should be sterilized..

This was a very well writen article. While some may agree with what is being done and others may not, it still was a well thoughtout well written article. THe Dispatch had some big shoes to fill with Dana Wilson (the old Delaware County Reporter) and they did it by hiring Allison Manning.

This type of program was incorporated into the health reform legislation. The Senate version allows for $1.5B for home nurse visits.

They should shove some money into teaching these kids to keep there legs shut until there old enough to take care of there own responsibilities. For every one of these children raising children, there are about 10 more whose parents end up raising those illegitimate children.
Why should you teach them to keep their legs shut? Their hormones are raging at this age and to keep them pent up isn't healthy. If they can't knock one off every now and then, they would have to release that energy by commiting crimes of violence. Did you have sex as a teenager? It would be better to furnish them rubbers and birth control pills.

A worthy program started by good people, but unfortunately once government money, and government bureaucrats, get involved, it morphs from this to a program that has to encourage teen pregnancies in order to make sure funding keeps flowing and increasing every year.

It no longer is about solving a problem, but becomes a quest to maintain and grow government funding. So, making the problem bigger (or appear bigger) becomes goal number one.

I had to respond to the things being said on here.
One as teenagers you made unwise choices from time to time. Lets just admit some of us look back and thing wow- I could have been killed or I could have gotten in some big time trouble or could have ended up pregnant or have gotten someone pregnant.
We can preach no sex all we want BUT lets be realistic. How many of you as teens listened to your parents all the time? and be honest.

Society is sex driven these days. All the songs on the radio, the music videos, tv shows- they all make reference to sex. Our children are exposed to it much earlier.
Also, so many kids today are raising themselves. Parents are both working and they come home and spend several hours home alone. They are forced to grow up so fast.
The purpose of this program is to give support and help to young mothers. It is not a program that is encouraging it in anyway. The goal is to help them care for their baby and not abuse the child after born or not dump them in the trash after they have them. It is so they have someone to turn to for advice and help.
I believe this is a wonderful program. I am a mother of three kids. I always feel support from friends and family is needed to raise good kids and it gives the children the feeling of extra security.
The girls in this program get support from their families plus an additional person. Or maybe their family has shut them out and now they have someone to turn to help.
Don't judge the program or these girls.
Boys and society are just as much to blame.
Educate Educate- preach preach but you are still going to have those boys and girls that don't listen and we as a society should not judge or turn our backs.

Did that include free college tuition of any sort? Food assistance? I hope you are kind to the person who is beneath you, who didn't get the same help due to the decisions *they* made.

Why do you have to pick this program apart? Why can't you see the help it is offering to young teen moms.
And Nickled and Dimed- Why do you naturally assume that all these girls in this program are getting welfare etc? If they have supportive, helpful parents maybe they are not and even if they don't have supportive parents, it doesn't mean they are standing in the welfare line waiting for a hand out.
I was a young mom, not a teenager, but young. I had help from my parents and support, but I also busted my a-- working to pay my bills and buy diapers and formula etc. I didn't look for a hand out.
I am sure that some are using the welfare system but to imply all of them are is unfair.
The program is to educate so they make better choices in the future. I mean a baby is already here so there is no turning back. The girls want to keep these babies so they are working with an older adult mom to help guide them, give them advice and extra support.
It is a place to offer them help.

You did your partying before "mommy of 2"! With 2 children now, don't you ever think about partying again! I agree with you: you produced the babies and they are your responsibility. Not your mom's. Not grandma's!

You are right! I apologize from the bottom of my heart! Your message didn't indicate the circumstances when I wrote. I am deeply sorry and I hope the bas tard who raped you was punished for having done that.

Lolita's response to the Mommy of 2. You did apologize, which is respectable. Again, an assumption was made.
The girls in this program may be in this program b/c of circumstances beyond their control. Like in the situation above.
It is the same thing that others are doing in saying they are on welfare etc.
Just because they are using a program does not mean they are in welfare lines or sleeping around.
It's like AA people go for support and help- same as this program. They want extra support.
The goal of the program is to keep children from being abused and to help provide the girls with a support group.

Stop judging and start helping. Educate kids, be a village that raises a child, get involved in mentoring and hopefully we will see a change in the number of girls becoming pregnant.

Great comment!!! The same people bashing these girls probably supported Palin for VP!!! Remember, she had a pregnant teen daughter. It is a support group to help people. Many pregnant teens can and do go on to lead very positive lives.
Palin's daughter wasn't going to sponge off the rest of us.
