That little scumbag has thankfully been run out of Ohio State.
I saw that a couple of months back. These kids are only "sorry" after they're made to deal with the consequences of their actions (or lack thereof).

In post 321 you stated you did not answer calls when certain clients numbers popped up, and you did not their return calls.
Now you change your story.
I think that at least 80% of those solo practioners, working out of their basements are doing so because no big firm wants them. Or they are semi-retired and do a few simple wills or real estate closings, etc.
So, no, I don't believe you.
btw, the best criminal attorney in DE, for my money, is a one man show. He operates out of a brownstone house, not far from the court, has a full staff and the building is office only. He's been sought after by many firms in DE and out. We are well acquainted because of NFL tickets.
Now why you have gotten so vicious towards the Catholic church in a discussion about a criminal rape of a girl, is beyond me. I'm not Catholic, but I harbor no 'seething hatred' like you do.
And you cannot demonize the entire Catholic clergy over the acts of a few. As I stated before, once this became 'popular', I imagine there were many frivilous suits filed strickly for the money.
Woefully, child abuse is not confined to any one group.
Let's take these one at a time:

Here's what I wrote that you're referring to in post 321:
Duke for Mayor wrote:
<quoted text>Paco would be able to afford an initial one hour consultation, after which I would be drinking heavily with the three hundred dollars he just gave me and never answering another call when I saw his number pop up on my phone.
1) An initial consultation does not form an attorney/client relationship. If you were one, you would know that. The rest of that particular issue should be self explanatory, but here it is: I would not answer Paco's calls, because he is a moron who I would never accept as a client.

2) The very first mention in this thread of anything involving the Catholic Church came from Paco in post #122, as a retort directed towards Che. I first alluded to the Church in post 176, and Che first mentioned that he saw documents involving the Kodger case when he was working in Cleveland in post 173. From there, it snowballed, with several of you making ridiculous and easily refuted claims that the Church never paid hush money to sexual abuse victims. If you would learn how to read, you'd notice that my ire is not directed at the people who are good Catholics, and live their lives right. Its directed specifically at the people who deserve it, and those like you who are too ignorant to admit what the Bishops and Cardinals in authority did. If you think that's vicious...I really don't care.

3) I went to school so that I could do what makes me happy. So did a lot of other people. That's what I do. It bothers me not one bit that I don't fit the perception you have of people in my profession.

You tell me.

Here are a couple of real life examples that the molester protector Bishop in Louisville used.

And here's what I would have advised the victims who executed these documents: Sign, deposit the check, make sure it clears.

Then hold a press conference, and expose your abusers, paying scrupulous attention to the words you employ so as not to violate the terms of the agreement.

OMG, you are so out of control.
First off, I am not referring to 'Duke for Mayor' here - I am referring to those who *may* harbor resentment against the Catholic church into their adult years who *may* have been sexually abused as children by someone involved in the church. And really, this could extend into any church - not just the Catholic church.
You have NO RIGHT to judge anyone (aren't you the one who talks about Jesus?) who may have been sexually abused as a child and who carries that PTSD into their adulthood. Have you tried walking away from being abused as a child, SL? HAVE YOU?
I've never walked away from any child, and sometimes the 'child' has been an adult.

No, you're the one off the rails and out of control. I've been napping actually. I'm not mean, stupid, classless or dense. You sound like Reader and Che. Doesn't matter how many times you say it. I know myself. I know who I am.

I can state my opinion and that's not making a judgement of anyone. It's my opinion.

You were on this thread on Monday when it was all about the rape. And you made perfect sense. Then you came back last night and have turned into a screaming lunatic defending Duke and Che on an issue that is very complex and has been heard in multiple venues with multiple results. The experts and participants haven't come to a concise conculsion yet.

I read the appellate decision you posted in your post 263. With the range of discussion going back and forth all week on this, and with respect, it is only a tiny piece of the grand picture and hardly applies.

Now if you think child molestation has been contained only to the Catholic church, you truly are living on another planet. I have also said that at least twice on this thread.

I could start a thread "Is January he first month of the year?" And Reader, Che and Tran would disagree and stoop quickly to using names and hateful words. Does it bother me? Nope. Am I proud of how I've reacted to them at times? No. But I haven't twisted everything said by someone else to suit my agenda.

I thought you were different, even mentioned WW, as someone I enjoyed and respected here in posting on other threads. Guess I was wrong.

gokeefe denied that legal payments were made in exchange for silence. I picked out a story entirely different, to bring it down to her level to help her understand that, yes, sometimes legal agreements are signed and checks handed over. Duke for Mayor has a different strategy regarding that.
If you're lost in a thread, you're lost in a thread. No reason to go after the messenger.
Yes this is the real gokeefe. Posting from the phone.
WW you need to read what I have said. I did not, never will deny what happened in these abuse cases. I have stated here numerous time--in several threads my knowledge of these case and the fact I do personally know a few survivors.
What I have stated is that Che and Duke have providec NO proof of "hush money" in the Cleveland case. Skimming? I realize details are hard to follow here but watch what you claim. He who yells the loudest is not always he who is right. Che and Duke have obscured the discussion as have you by tossing some link to a Firestone Tire case? Huh??? Yeah, all humans are susceptible to fraud and lying but pay attention to the details!

Hugh and I haven't exactly seen eye-to-eye on most things, lol. There are some issues that transcend political or religious beliefs and these two twerps from Stubenville got off way too easily. I'm glad that most people nowadays are not in the habit of blaming the victim anymore. I can't for the life of me understand how there were other kids standing around, seeing this and did nothing, said nothing. I've never been like that. I don't like confrontation, but like hell would I ever allow something like that to go down in front of me and not say something. I'm currently being chastised by people in my hometown because I spoke up about these people who let their puppy stay out all night and freeze to death. I've been told that I should "watch my back" next time I visit my family. These are the types of people who come from this area. They have some attachment to some "code" to not speak about the effed up stuff people do even though it's completely wrong.

OMG, I've called animal control on folks too. Dog chained outside in the heat and no water. Getting wrapped around lawn furniture and trees. Cutting down trees AFTER nesting season has started. Horses standing in open fields with no cover for winter, no shade for summer and untended feet and eyes.
Did the dog literally die?

I'm with you on this case. No way would I have not done whatever I had to, including calling 911 to stop this.

Every town has a football team and football 'stars.' Here, they would not have gotten sympathy. I think they should have been tried as adults, committed to a state prison and given longer sentences.

I will give the girl's family kudos for coming out saying they wanted no more arrests and just wanted it over. Of course, that's up the the AG.

Do you think they'll go after the 'others' who did not report and refused to testify?

I'm not trying to be mean. Thinking it over, it may be just be that you lost your creditability a long time ago. idk I do know, whether in your personal life or business, once you lose it, it's an impossible thing to rebuild completely.
I'm fairly new here, so I don't know what transpired six months ago. But you do.

You said when you didn't want to take a client or they were 'difficult clients', you charged more and didn't answer the phone when their number came up, and didn't return their calls. That's rude and unprofessional, and that is exactly what you said in post 321.

Just answer the phone and say "I am unable to take your case at this time" or, if already a client, call them personally and say "I am advising you to seek new counsel as I no longer want to represent you. If you are interested, I will recommend someone who may be able to help you."

Now anyone would have more respect for you if you had done that instead of dodging calls. That would have been the honorable way of handling it and you most likely would not have made an enemy.

Attorneys withdraw their appearance all the time in ongoing cases. I can site a civil case ongoing right now where the plaintiffs have had four attorneys to date because three attorneys have withdrawn.

Then later you wrote an enormously long post trying to twist and undo what you had said in post 321 because I called you on it. It's so incredibility clear.

Instead of lashing out at everyone but Che, maybe you should look inwards.

I've given you the benefit of the doubt for a long time, because I think deep down you're probably a nice person.

You still don't comprehend what is required to form an attorney client relationship thereby imposing an ethical duty to return calls, so instead of looking at exactly what I wrote and figuring out why I said what I did, using the exact words that I did, you see what you wish to see.

Words have meaning. They're specific.

Che's right. You are insufferably stupid.
