Yeah, really. Your toady trying to rehabilitate you makes it even funnier.
If that's an insult, you fail, as usual. I am far from anyone's 'toady'(I think that should be Toadie.) But I'd FAR rather be in line with George, Spook, gokeefe, WW, Bob, Tony, Glitter, Rowdy and others than with you, Tran and the Twister.
You back eachother up (and who knows what else to eachother) on any ridiculous idea.
At least George has, class, substance and a life outside of Topix 24 X 7.

You want to attack an entire religion over a few rouge priests, that's unfair and unwise. You'll find rouges in every group. That's a given. That does not take away from all of the good work the Catholic Church and other clergy connected to it have done.

You claim to have personally seen a highly confidential document in the 80's, that late in the thread, doesn't ring true.

No, I believe I've proven my case here over the last three years.
But what a snappy comeback. You should try stand-up.

Of course you think it should be "toadie." That's because you are always wrong.

It's not proof of a document. It's a report of a he said-she said situation. It's not even PROOF that the money was paid. <rolls eyes>

Sheez, thought I was dealing with a "professional" here, Duke sticks up for her, and all I had was two semesters of law in college--torts and contract law LOL.

You are not always wrong, Spookerini. And can you believe the minuscule things this one and Tran find to obsess about? They took classes at the "Reader School of Debate." It was their major. They passed note in class.

I believe you have been corrected by Spook. Besides 'toadie' just looks prettier, in my opinion.

Oh, I'm never wrong, just ask my husband or my boss. Never. Thought I was once, but I was mistaken.

<quoted text> I hear that there's 'monitored' email in prison. And some inmates can use their friend or family members Facebook also. Cell phones have been smuggled in there for years now! My wife's cousin was in there 15 years ago, and said a fat kitchen worker fell in love with a black inmate and gave him a prepaid cell. He was caught talking on it to her under his blanket one night after lights out.
Hey, WA. I have a friend that's a counselor at a MD state prison. Everything gets smuggled in one way or another. The gangs run everything. Prisoner gets $ put on his 'account', the gangs tell him what to get at the commissary for them. Muslims are the largest population. They serve no pork to accomodate them. Turkey sausage, etc. There are arrows painted on the floors pointing towards Mecca for their prayer 15 times a day. There are no computers available to the inmates, not in Maryland. It's a mean existance.
She's this tiny, little black lady and can back any of them down. And yet she is so sweet and compassionate, just good at her job. She'll be retiring this year. They will miss her!
Oh, all the TV's have to be purchased from the prison catalog and all are clear, see through models so contraband cannot be hidden in them.
Someone gets murdered, or close to it every week.

I'll hand you this. I knew there were allegations, didn't realize or forgot there were in other dioceses, but knew of nothing out of the Ohio cases where there were proven payments of "hush up money." When Che proves that, I'll get off her ass for making the assertion.
Start here, and work your way backward. Che is right.

Why should anyone look up something they have experienced first hand? Don't you obey Reader's "Don't trust the internet' mantra?
Getting awfully close to your wedding day for you to have your mind on here. Are you going to change that God-awful photo for one of you and your 'spouse?' We'd all love to see it and send you our very best wishes.
Being able to quickly look up verifiable facts should mean that folks wont make stupid factual errors. Or, at least, that the errors should be easy to correct.

That's never really seemed the case.

I hired my venue and planner to do all the worrying for me. Short of worrying about the weather and responding to dissertation edits, wasting time online over lattes seems the easiest way to manage things. Worst case scenario, the flowers will be the wrong shade or some nonsense. Nothing worth worrying about.

You should stick to what you're doing, whatever it is.

If you believe, despite the mountains of evidence that the Catholic Church didn't pay off its victims to keep them quiet, I'd say you're a bit naive.
