AG-Dewine is now grandstanding because both he and kasich are in trouble politically, they are going to be voted out of office soon. All the either of them care about is personal enrichment at the public trough. Dewine was a goof as a senator just like wall street kasich has been as a governor. Only an idiot could screw up the stuebenville case, it was like shooting fish in a barrel. The two rapists should have been tried as adults- a discretionary bindover mr.attorney general in case you forgot what that is and when found guilty given long terms of incarceration without early release. Did others conspire to cover things up-DUH!!! hopefully dewine wont screw this up but I wouldnt count on it.

Does not prove that he/she was privy to the documents or had any inside role or knowledge, which was the claim. All Che does all day and night is post on here and look things up. Anyone can 'google' anything.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
This has really been my point.

With technology making it so easy to look things up, I'm constantly confused and slightly distressed by the continued refusal to do so.

Anyone can google anything. Why doesn't everyone, rather than saying foolish things?

So are you pro-rape or anti-rape? You seem to be both which does not make sense.

Reader was on another Steubenville thread, she thought that charging them as juveniles was a good idea.
If you can bribe a guard, they might smuggle in a cell phone, you can get on mobile topix I think.
I hear that there's 'monitored' email in prison. And some inmates can use their friend or family members Facebook also. Cell phones have been smuggled in there for years now! My wife's cousin was in there 15 years ago, and said a fat kitchen worker fell in love with a black inmate and gave him a prepaid cell. He was caught talking on it to her under his blanket one night after lights out.

Charles Manson caught, again, with cell phone.

Yes, for rape and all of the other disgusting behavior. One got one year with 'time served' deducted, the other, the one who circulated the video, two years with 'time served.'
And it's not jail, it's juvenile detention. They'll be friggin heros in there.
It makes me sick. They should have been tried as adults and put in a State prison. They may never have been touched, but they would have been in fear the whole time.

Why should anyone look up something they have experienced first hand? Don't you obey Reader's "Don't trust the internet' mantra?

Getting awfully close to your wedding day for you to have your mind on here. Are you going to change that God-awful photo for one of you and your 'spouse?' We'd all love to see it and send you our very best wishes.

They DID get sentenced to prison...in the juvenile system, NOT detention. Two very different things.

From: BishopAccountability.org re Cleveland Diocese
Doesn’t the fact that there were more abusers than previously thought imply that the Church was successful in covering up many of these cases?
Clearly it demonstrates that during the past 50 years abuse was dealt with in many ways that were ineffective in both Church and society until relatively recently. The situation today is that
* laws protecting children are stronger;
* public authorities investigate these accusations more effectively;
* parents are more alert to the importance of reporting abuse other local authorities.
* Above all, people now come forward and report being abused instead of suffering in silence as so many did in the past.
We have learned much about the insidious nature of abuse and it reinforces the need for the comprehensive, transparent reporting and prevention policies made mandatory by the bishops in the Dallas Charter and Norms.
But didn’t the Church keep a lot of these cases quiet by paying hush money to families?
Like many other organizations and individuals, dioceses reached settlements with victims. As often happens when intimate matters are involved or matters about which the parties cannot agree on liability, the settlements were accompanied by non-disclosure agreements covering all parties. Even though this is common in civil litigation, it has been criticized as a “cover-up” when the Church asks for such agreements. It had the unintended effect, under certain circumstances, of enabling abuser to abuse again. This practice is now forbidden by the “Charter”“except for grave and substantial reasons brought forward by the victim/survivor and noted in the text of the agreement”(Article 3).

You forgot, "just plain a-hole." And I see no facts regarding the claim that Che has made.
We're all still waiting for your daughter's proof that she was privy to some secret hush money payoff. THAT is the subject of debate.

There are a myriad of reasons why you have gotten all the information about my personal involvement that you are going to get. So you might as well end that debate. It is telling that what you care about is my involvement rather than the behavior of your Church.

If that's an insult, you fail, as usual. I am far from anyone's 'toady'(I think that should be Toadie.) But I'd FAR rather be in line with George, Spook, gokeefe, WW, Bob, Tony, Glitter, Rowdy and others than with you, Tran and the Twister.
You back eachother up (and who knows what else to eachother) on any ridiculous idea.
At least George has, class, substance and a life outside of Topix 24 X 7.

You want to attack an entire religion over a few rouge priests, that's unfair and unwise. You'll find rouges in every group. That's a given. That does not take away from all of the good work the Catholic Church and other clergy connected to it have done.

You claim to have personally seen a highly confidential document in the 80's, that late in the thread, doesn't ring true.
