Free him to do what? Work at Papa John's? Oh, go back to selling drugs? Who would trust him to do business with him again? It's a sad story. I heard he was a really nice guy.

Has anyone ever spoken with anybody in prison? EVERYbody in prison has an appeal going. It's your last lifeline. It's like players in the NBA not having a basketball. It just goes with the territory. Part of the prison talk. Every prisoner is waiting on an appeal to get out of jail. And then when it's denied, they file another one. And then anohter one. and then another one. And then, if they're lucky, they become a jailhouse lawyer and file appeals themselves and fire their attorney. Then, they become a business man in jail and become a jailhouse attorney for hte newcomers. They create appeals for the newbies and then sell it to them for a hostess cupcake and two white tees

Better yet- legalize it, then tax the CRAP out of all of it at similar or even higher luxury consumer use rates equal to those applied to both booze and tobacco. Problem solved. Next!.......

Why legalize drugs? Drugs are disgusting. Pushers are disgusting. The entire culture of flagrant disrespect surrounding drugs is disgusting. Drugs are more than just money for illegal commerce, they are the backbone for prostitution and other crimes of manipulation. If we legalize drugs we give a stamp of approval to a whole subculture of lowlifes and smug morons who decidedly do not deserve it.

Hunt thugs.

Hunt these thugs.

Keep track of them, disrupt them, destroy them. And when another pops up, rinse and repeat, as needed, until you get to the root of it all, and then take that root right out. Rinse, repeat.

Huh??

Why associate God with this drug lord? "Mistakes"? Are we calling ORGANIZED CRIMES 'mistakes'?? Assume your responsabilities as criminals instead of excusing an ilegal and bloody activity with soft words.
Enough, big sis!

They built there case off of others testimonies who were working deals out for themselves because they were the ones who caught cases with evidence. They have nothing on him, nothing but some lies from people trying to help themselves, it's a shame that our tax dollars aren't being used on more important things like the petifiles and rapist. We love you Pop!!

From where your loved Pop got the money to buy properties and cars? If it is a decent job, I'd like to know what he does to be so successful.

First and foremost who are we to judge..no one held a gun to the buyers head to tell them to buy crack or mary j, no one told the crackhead to kill or steal to get money to buy drugs..Its all about choices and free will. Secondly the fact that they have so much evidence they should have proven the case with or with out reasonable doubt that he was guilty without relying on perjury. Commonsense tells you if you are reducing my sentence i'm going to say what you want to hear so that I can cover myself. Third you never do anything that can be traced back to you electronically. If he did call the shots then he is just as guilty as those who actually touch the information. To the comment above about the replacement, just as soon as they lock one up another replacement is already running the cortel..I would think the US Gov would be aware of this, did they not watch In Too Deep, Blow, New Jack City.. Fourth why not make it legal thus you wouldn't have to worry about using tax payer money unnecessarily for unwarranted cases..Lets Focus on the Rapist, Murders, etc..drugs is not that severe..its about choices...Finally if you can't do the time don't do the crime.
we are screwed

It's unreal all of these people defending this guy!
How "beautiful" a person is he when the drugs he has for sale are not to cure an illness. The people he "employed" are not earning a socially accepted living. They are not contributing to society in any meaningful way. You might as well be defending a person who kills mentally challenged people, because that's basically what a geeker is. They aren't rational when they need a fix...
It would also help if these defenders of this "beautiful" human being had a grip on the language of their country. How can you take anything said by thsee folks seriously when they can't express themselves in a clear and consice manner with somewhat proper english. I'm not perfect in my english by any strech of the imagination, but I can compose a thought and ensure it's at least spelled correctly.

Williams' attorneys, Jeffrey Brandt and Matthew Robinson, did not call any defense witnesses. Instead, they relied on opening and closing statements to drive home the argument that the government had not proved its case against their client.
"The government has created a story that can't be backed up," Brandt said. He argued that the surveillance testimony, taped phone conversations and evidence found by police weren't enough to convict Williams without corroborating witness testimony.
And the prosecution witnesses couldn't be trusted to tell the truth because they were trying to minimize their own prison time by testifying against Williams, Brandt said.
"I believe in my bones that he's innocent of the offenses of which he's charged," he said.
How in the he** can any attorney honestly stand up in court and make the above statement??
The attorneys HAVE to make that statement. Who would pay a lawyer to tell the court "Yeah, he did it."?
They are duty bound to believe thier client. Can you imagine how many homicide cases these attorneys could close if they were duty bound to tell the truth. It's thier job to lie for thier client and to the court. The better liars they are, the more they get paid an hour.
