Willard tried to suck up to Israelis by trashing Palestinian culture.

sigh

Israel has no quarrel with Palestinian culture. When Jews first showed up in the pre '48 days, they wanted local Arabs to welcome them home as fellow semites and neighbors.

Today, if not for Hamas and the like, Israel would have its deal with Fatah, the main political descendent of the PLO. Fatah can do the deal, but Hamas won't.

There are Jewish-Palestinian deals all over the place. Neither side gets credit. We stayed in a Jewish hotel in 2005 in Jerusalem which had a Palestinian staff...that prepared and served all the food. Think about that. In the northern West Bank and Galilee there are very successful cooperative Jewish-Palestinian business relationships. The Israeli government has poured a lot of development money into Palestinian agriculture in that area. The result is that Nazareth which was a dirt poor Arab town back in the 1970s is today the economic wonder of Galilee.

Zionists that we are, my wife and I had no problem with our daughter being in daycare babysitting with a Palestinian woman whose husband was a graduate engineering student at OSU. Their culture was just fine by us.

Onece and for all...in the Year of our Lord 2012, ther is no such thing as Palestine. There are no such people as Palestinians. They are the rejects and misfits from the Arab world, unable to live by the conventions of their various nations of origination (Jordan leaps to mind.)
They're very much like the OWSers of the region. Ignorant, envious and trashy malcontents.

If somebody decided to take a chunk of land from us by force .... like Puerto Rico or New Mexico. I guarantee you guys who rip on the Palestinians all the time would be pissed.

And just for fun, let's say they took it and gave it to the Muslims.

Or for that matter .... Northern Ireland.

The Palestinians are right to fight the injustice of having their land taken.

ROMNEY EXPECTED TO GET a very friendly reception in Poland.“The Republican presidential nominee has a strong ally in Lech Walesa, who personally asked Mr. Romney to visit Poland on July Fourth. Mr. Walesa — a stalwart of Ronald Reagan’s presidency, icon of the Solidarity movement and Nobel Prize winner — turned down a meeting with President Obama when he came to Poland more than a year ago, however. Mr. Obama also created a controversial stir last month after referring to ‘Polish death camps’ rather than “Nazi death camps,” a gaffe that prompted him to write a letter of apology to Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski. In the meantime, Mr. Walesa is not mincing words.”

It was never their land, Bob. Before 1948, it was Britain's and before 1918 it the Ottoman Empire's.

It was always Eretz Yisrael. The rest is politics...which always calls for some compromise (the Sinai was given up), but Eretz Yisrael is Eretz Yisrael. Roman theft of the land was corrected. Gee, where is that Roman flag at the Olympics?

And Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Iraq ... the indigenous people of those countries (formerly of the Ottoman Empire) have no right to exist either? Let's give their countries to the Jews. Is that what you're saying?

How many Jews and their holy sites are in those countries? I seem to recall the Bible saying that God gave Israel to his chosen people.

There should be a middle ground here....SINCE Israel still seeks a peace deal with a legitimate Palestinian entity...ie the Palestinian Authority.

So, shall Israel be declared a "terrorist lover" for seeking a peace deal?

Let Hamas be destroyed. Fatah is different (though not perfectly innocent)...that's why Israel negotiates with Fatah.
