I know that ... Just using Putin's name in shorthand - too lazy too look the guy up.
That said, having been around Eastern Europeans my entire life, I can state unequivocally that there is nothing funnier than hearing somebody swear, use the N word, or say the word ph hag ghott with an Eastern European accent. They let it all hang out.
Come to think of it, I know this guy from India who also uses the N word rather liberally. I burst out laughing when I think of it.
Yeah Ebob, the stupid Indian doesn't know that the reason you're laughing is that in Eastern Europe Indians like him are #¡§§as too.

You should know by now that anything thats a little out there I laugh at. You gotta admit, a dark skinned Indian using the N-word is hilarious.

There's no problem talking smack. He just doesn't respect him because he's a jive ass and an empty suit.

I doubt Putin would be calling Colin Powell a monkey.

Aint ya concerned about pumping Putin up so much will lead some to accuse you of being anti-American, proRussian?
Oh, I see, it's satire, ehhh?
Actually I like Putin. Vladimir, notice first name basis, Vladimir is ruling Russia more in the Mikhail Gorbachev method than the Dzugashvili method which is pissing a lot of the old guard communists off but who cares.
Putin is reaching out to the Russian Orthodox Church, reopening churches which the old guard had turned into museums. And Vladimir is buddying with Patriarch Kirill, head of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Vladimir is also reaching out to both the Polish Catholic Church and government which I think is a good thing. Leaders of the three churches, Russian Orthodox, Polish Catholic and German Lutheran are conferencing and starting to have dialogue. I think it's great.
Just saying. I thought some in America might be interested.

As I said in another post, Vladimir Putin would be too heavy handed for this country. But he is in my mind the Russian equivalent of Ronald Reagan. He is a Russian patriot and he restored the pride Russians have in their country.

Also, growing up in the 1970s we heard much about the USSR being the "Evil Empire". They were considered a defense risk, but for the life of me I don't really see who they ever invaded other than Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan, both within their sphere of influence.

A sober, dispassionate view of the situation in hindsight shows that we have the ones invading people and making war on others where we had no business being.

We like to think this is okay because we have good intentions, but the fact remains that we have been the ones starting wars the past couple of generations, not Russia.

Russia in its current incarnation, has invaded only Georgia, but the Georgians are known to have started that.

McCain wanted WWIII over that.

Enzyte Bob and The Artist, at the risk of being called a Russian, Russian sympathizer or whatever, I have to agree with both of you. I always agree with the truth. The Gorbachev/Putin/Medvedev Russia, even though not being American style, which it never was nor ever will be, is certainly not the Stalin/Andropov/Brezhnev style.
It is much easier to work with Putin than it ever was Dzugashvili.
I can and do agree Putin is a Russian equivalent of Reagan in that he is looking for ways to work WITH people. And not with the attitude of my four and no more. Like Reagan I think Putin knows trading goods and services with other peoples is better than trading artillery and bullets. He knows being a live dog is better than a dead lion!

I see that people are starting to repeat the conspiracy theories that made the opinion pages last weekend. Do you really think Barry is smart enough to push all the right buttons to make this happen? What has he ever done professionally that leads you to believe that he has the talent or know-how to do this?

Barry simply has the same world view Carter had. Actually, he is far to the left of Carter, being raised Moslem and a Moslem sympathizer, if not an outright Mohamedan. After all, his brother(s) are part of the Moslem brotherhood aren't they?

Basically, this is just inept foreign policy and an ameteur that leads to the logical outcome of America looking stupid.

Think of this as being like when Michigan hired Rich Rodriguez to bring them the spread..... Better yet, think of this as being the time Notre Dame hired high school coach Gerry Faust. Barry's skills and experience are sub-high school football coach and it's starting to show.

I admit a lot of old style communist Russians hate and despise Gorbachev for, what they call, selling Russia out but the younger crowd and the Russian antiCommunists are not that antiGorby.
