Only 3 years. And the mayor wonders why there are rampant youths in the city. No punishment for the crime. 3 years, out in 6 months.

This guy has a prior gun charge. Disbarment proceedings will begin immediately in the case of Judge Julie Lynch.

Judge Julie Lynch is a Republican. Been telling you folks. You can't trust Republicans. How many times do you have to be stabbed in the back before you start wisin up? First, it was Senate Bill 5. Now it's three measley years for tryin to kill a cop. How many times will it take before police officers stop voting for Republicans? How many? You can't be that stupid. Or are you?

He could have easily killed someone but gets off with a lame 3 year sentence...and yet people wonder why gun crimes continue to rise. There is no real punishment for using a gun in a crime or anything illegal so people aren't afraid to use them.

Using a gun during a crime should be a mandatory 15 year sentence, plus anything else added on top if someone is actually shot, killed, etc.

As for the "average Joe" being as important as a police officer, I see where you're coming from, but is the average Joe sworn to step in for YOUR safety, in the time you need it?
Here is where your argument falls apart. The Supreme Court has ruled multiple times that the police are under no obligation to put their lives in danger to save anyone. They can tuck their tails and run for cover just like anyone else does and they do quite often. Remember Columbine? Waited for hours until they had enough troops to take over a small country before they risked their Lilly livered as sss. It was proved that the teacher shot bled to death waiting for help to arrive.

And FYI, I don't live in Plain City or even close. However my internet provider has a hub that is called Plain City even though it also is not even close to Plain City. So don't put much stock in where someone's post says it comes from.

Can't wait for this guy to get out of prison in three years. Well, probably, more like 18 months - two years.

Judge Lynch's lenient sentencing is not unique. There was an incident on a Delta jet last year from Atlanta to New York. An unruly female passenger started taunting a pregnant woman on the plane with racial insults. She was removed from the plane at JFK, but not before she bit and kicked an FBI agent. The defendant had a history of 22 prior arrests. The Federal judge in New York sentence her to only 89 days in jail (even though the prosecutors wanted about two years). The defendant claimed that "the alcohol served on the flight caused here to act unruly! The dumb judge stated "If I sentence her longer, her two kids will have to go to foster care". If that judge's decision wasn't unmitigating gall, I don't know what is! There is simply no no justice!

Felonious assault is a second-degree felony in Ohio, but the fact that the victim was a peace officer elevated this case to a first-degree felony. I don't know when it was decided, but that's the law. If you disagree with the law, talk to your legislator and try to change the law.
By the way, the MINIMUM sentence for a first-degree felony in Ohio is three years. Looks like this perp got the minumum. And a year gone already for time served. Probably will be out in a few months on probation.
He IS eligible for judicial and Lynch will NOT give him that

Since you are into giving only part of the story, do you remember the shooting at the Alrosa Villa? The reason that police officer went in and ended it the way he did is because now Law Enforcement is being trained to go in and put pressure on shooters in those situations. They learned from their mistake at Columbine.

Any day you feel you are real life tough and not internet tough, jump out there in a cruiser and patrol the streets. It will change your perspective in a hurry.

What the hell is this? 3 lousy years for trying to kill a cop doing his job trying to rid our streets of drugs and thugs? Who the hell is this Judge Julie Lynch? What a worthless judge. Lemme guess. The guy's lawyer contributes to her campaign, right? Yeah, that would explain it.
She is the decendant of "Willie Lynch." Columbus, Ohio calims to be liberal but the Judges, Cops and the City of Columbus are racist.
