WA, on my Mother's heart, I have NEVER heard a Rush Limbaugh telecast. I know he's way right and was picked up somewhere at sometime for some kind of prescription meds, but I have never heard him.

Extremists in any group turn me off quickly. I think they care less about their 'cause' then they do hearing themselves talk (scream).

<quoted text> REAGAN BACKED GUN CONTROL: Remember Huey Newton and the Black Panthers? Adam Winkler, professor of constitutional law at UCLA, in an Atlantic article (September, 2011) says they began the modern guns-rights movement. Their opponents? The NRA and, later, Ronald Reagan, both eager to suppress black radicals through strict gun control.
How about supressing the white nazi supremacist groups who are really dangerous? And the radical Muslims who are a large part of our prison population and are absolutely catered to.

It's the economy, WA. Reagan turned a bad economy around rather quickly. That's what people talk about.

Talk about spinning! Exit, stage left, is how you just whisk over the facts of Reagan and the 1960's NRA and their attempt and success, in getting legislation passed to suppress blacks in the urban areas from exercising their 2nd amendment right. Due to the cowardness of Reagan (the actor) laws against open carry or brandishing, became California law after Huey P. Newton (BPP leader) showed up on the California Statehouse lawn, with a few Panthers carrying shot guns. Reagan was talking to the media over 600 yards away on the opposite side of the building. That started this mess of 'gun control ',but you Republicans who don't know a lot of your own historical facts support Reagan because of his austerity measures. He took away with both hands instead of one!

WA, I wasn't trying to spin away from it. I'm unfamiliar with it.
How did, under Reagen, gun control supress 'radical (your word) blacks' 2nd amendent rights votes in urban areas?
Do you really think 'open carry or brandishing' are good ideas?
I live close to Philly and am there often. The black panthers are alive and well. Particularly on election day.

If the Hell's Angels or another white MC club did the same thing the panthers do, politically, all hell would be raised.
When you say,'you republicans', I'm an independent.

KOSmik, you are not a "libertarian". You want heavy regulation of Wall Street, which the official Libertarian party is against. They want almost no regulation.
The L party came into existence because of Richard Nixon, who was not a moral crusader.
What is known as the "Religious Right" was created by Jimmy Carter, who said he was a moral crusader, and he still does, he's just a jihadist not a crusader.
You are correct that I do not believe in freedom, rights don't come without responsibilities. Personal responsibility is lacking in society, and when the system burns, I am not going to care.
You go to a lot of trouble to try to tell me what I am and am not. What does it matter to you? I vote for Libertarians, you vote for Republicans. Somehow you keep skipping over the basis of the party's name, liberty.

You favor fascism, that's fine, just admit that's what you favor. I favor individual liberty. Emphasis on individual. You favor corporatism and that's nowhere to be found in the Libertarian platform.

The ban on loaded open carry in CA, was unconstitutional. It restricted the rights of those opposing the Panthers just as it restricted the rights of the Panthers.
The Panthers that you see today, are not the real Panthers. They are a knockoff.
The Panthers were criminal enabling Marxists, but they did believe in self defense and solving problems without the .gov. They also did provide breakfast for poor kids, which was mostly for show, though their defenders will say that it was the main thing.
The Hells Angels also do charity work, but they are crooks nonetheless.
It is unclear if the Hells Angels are a white-only group, it appears to vary by chapter.

Thanks for the claification on the CA ban.

Oh, they all do these stupid charity 'events.' Here it's the pagans and thunderguard, I think. The Thunderguards being black, the Pagans, white. Wire little teddy bears to the front of their choppers for the 'benefit' run.
Then they take their own members, or whoever is in their way out to the Jersey sandpits and put a bullet in their heads.
Not all bikers. Just the gangs, who in my opinion are cowards on their owns, but thugs in numbers.

Didn't you vote for Obama in 2008?
What you are is a "libertarian Democrat" in a sense "Russ Feingold".
You may claim to vote L, but your are against some of the parties policies. Further, since the Libertarians don't usually have candidates for state and county offices, I have a feeling you are voting D on them.
I can't figure how you can say I am a "fascist". I have no interest in making the trains run on time, I'm against Amtrak. My main complaints are that the government spends too much, people are motivated by greed, and the culture is degenerate. I don't even figure that government can do much of anything about the latter two.
Yeah I did vote for Obama in 2008, call it a mental lapse, if you will.

I vote across the board for the other offices. For example, I voted for Sherrod Brown for Sen. but for my Republican House Rep.

State and county level, I try to vote 'other party' when ever possible and probably split evenly between r and d for the rest.

Fascism is a lot more than the trains, it's the corporate power as well. Our government in refusing to prosecute HSBC for it's banking business with Iran, terrorist groups, and Mexican drug cartels smacks of fascism.

If they're not going to prosecute one, then they have no business prosecuting any. When the corporation receives governmental preference above the individual, that's pretty fascist.
