Always up for a new adventure .... This weekend I and a travel companion (my nephew) are taking the MegaBus to Omaha to have a meeting with Warren Buffet. Okay, that was a joke, but we are going to Omaha ...(I am driving a car back from there.)

While in Omaha, going to hit Lincoln to see the newest member of the Big Ten ... hitting Kansas City, Columbia and St. Louis as we meander back.

We left Columbus this morning, arriving in Chicagoland at about 5:15 pm (probably 6:30). Spending the evening in Chicago and departing for Omaha at 11:15.

Here's the kicker: My fare from Columbus to Chicago was $27 and from Chicago to Omaha was $25.

$53, and someone else does the driving, and it's mostly college kids - You don't have to sit with smelly, toothless people like on the Greyhound.

I'm sitting here doing a little work on the laptop ... looking forward to brunch with Warren tomorrow morning.

If you book in advance, the tickets are a lot cheaper. Anyway, this is so cheap it sounds like a great way to see places you have no other reason to ever see ... like Minneapolis, Des Moines and places like that.

Still,$53 to Omaha aint bad.

This sounds like a great way to see offbeat places on the cheap,

Not a bad deal. My daughter in Chicago takes the Megabus home to Ohio once in a while. Cheaper and easier for her. I just pick her up at OSU. I've never done that, but have parked in South Bend and have taken the train into Chicago. Fun.

Better especially now, where I live, almost whiteout conditions it's snowing so hard.

The weather was bad in Columbus this morning, but once you got past Springfield everything was fine. We are still having to drive slow because of all the winds today, though.

I'll give you guys a full report after I get back.

LOL. I have movies, books, laundry, and made a pot of chili. I may take a nap. Winter needs to just die.

LMAO!!! He's also bs'ing about that it's fine west of Springfield. It's not. It's worse west of here--I live west of Columbus outside of the 270 beltway and another daughter still lives in Dayton. They had warnings all over western Ohio today.

Are you kidding?
Up twice during the night to run water through faucets so my pipes don't freeze. Then,
I did laundry at 5am, ran dishwasher, cooked....now I'm relaxing.
I have these beautiful albums I bought to put recipes in so my kids can have them when I'm gone. I made one with all my mom's hand written recipes and keep it safe in my book cabinet.
It's just something to hand down that's memorable.
I love chili! M m m m m
Beef chili or chicken chili? I like both.
Enjoy!
Wait what

I have purchased such things off of eBay. Unfortunately, many young people do not understand their value. Glad you do!

Kid about napping? No way. That's serious business, but I didn't nap although I was up about 7ish on Saturday. Wanted to wash all the bedding. Having a cat, there's always cat fur over everything. So with laundry and vacuuming, I try to get rid of the fur off everything as often as I can.

Beef chili. I was thinking about making some pierogis but noticed I forgot to pick up flour when I went shopping earlier this week. Next week maybe.

I had a number of handwritten recipes from my mom, their great-grandma, and a few others that I kept in notebooks or binders. I ended up scanning those for everyone. The kids or I still have the majority of the originals, but over time, so many fell apart or lost that I'm glad I scanned the survivors!!
