Well it's good to see some progressiveness in the state of Ohio.

Guess offering coverage to heterosexual domestic partners is too much to ask...they're not in the classrooms indoctrinating deviancies are they?

This is not good.

A new study which analyzed tens of thousands of gay obituaries and compared them with ALDS death data from the Center for Disease Control has shown that the life expectancy for male homosexuals is about twenty years shorter than that of the general public. The study entitled Gay Obituaries closely track officially reported deaths from AIDS has been published in Psychological Reports 2005 96 693 697.

In an interview with lifesitenews com, Doctor Paul Cameron the President of the Family Research Institute and the scientist who headed the study indicated that he was not at all surprised by the findings and that it only served as further confirmation for what has long been known and other studies have already shown.

Corresponding almost exactly with Camersons study, the Vancouver Study indicated that life expectancy for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20 years less than for all men.

These diseases will and an additional burden on our economy, not to mention the health hazards.

Which is why this is a good thing....then they can get healthcare and get the medical attention they need, thus lessening the burden on our economy and the 'health hazards' you speak of

Ohio voted NO by landslide, not to accept gay marriage.

fire every schoolboard member

the schoolboard does not get to spend taxpayer dollars on something the citizens voted down by landslide.

Olentangy schools needs a dose of reality.

Starting 2013 school year off with an entire new board; and forcing school to live within imeans.

I will never vote for a school levy again.

I donít see a problem with this at all.

If we are going to offer gays equal protection under the law, a civil union will have to be part of it.

To deny equal benefits to two people in a legal relationship known as a civil union would be discrimination.

I forgot to add that this coverage should also be for
any two people in a civil union which would of course
include hetero civil unions.

it is against the law in Ohio; and was voted on, the state constitution admended.

you can't discriminate what is against the law.

that is called obeying the law.

When I was younger and lived in Ohio full time, I think
it was called common law but I don't know if this is applicable
to same sex cohabitating couples.

Sorry it affects you that others want the rights that people like you take for granted. Do you feel some sort of power from having rights that a segment of this country doesn't?

If it is about the word marriage why did they ban civil unions too? Apparently it is about punishing and showing hostility to homosexuals.

who is going to foot the bill for all these new people sharing benefits supplied by an employer?

morality banned the unmoral behavior in Ohio.

a smart decision by voters.

PS: living together couples do not receive employer benefits, so why should they because it is same sex arrangement?

If you look at the other side of this equation, partners will now be eligible for health coverage which will certainly increase their lives.

partners were eligible prior, except they had to PAY for coverage.

this is going to divide the nation further.

half work and pay taxes, the other half does not.

those that actually buy and pay for their own insurance, will revolt the idea of giving away what they pay $900 a month for.

this country is broke...get it?

who are you going to get to pay this new bill?

Familial coverage should be extended to the family as it is, not as it is defined by law or codified by an insurance company.

I know several hetero couples around my age who have married for the sole reasons of insurance coverage and end of life rights for either partner. I also know of some same sex couples whose sole goal is to have similar rights.

Let me clarify, the family, as in human members. I'm not into the space alien marriage notion.

you have the right to pay for insurance; but no right to get it free.

Who has said anything about free insurance? When that little brain of yours reaches its limitations you start throwing out things like 'free''spin' etc...

You have no point to make, no knowledge to share just ignorance to spread.
