CNN says his death was suicide by asphyxiation after years of severe depression. So sad considering how he was one of the funniest people ever.

The "conservative" posters here should be cheering. Let's see what they do.

He always cracked me up especially during his early years when he was hyped up on coke and his conversations would head off in 10 different directions at once. He is definitely one of the greatest comics of all time.

Liberals are known to be depressed and uncomfortable with themselves. They also use people aka democrats, who are not bright, to do their dirty work.

Robin Williams had a failed sitcom recently and that probably put him over the edge.

For a person to commit suicide, it takes a lot of guts and irrational thinking.
God I feel bad for him and his family.

Did you forget the fact he was so depressed to the point of losing all rational thinking? And thought there was no light at the end of the tunnel? Have you ever been to that point? Depression is a devastating desease with millions who don't even realize they're depressed. It is common to have a personality change after open heart surgery, which he did at the Cleveland Clinic. This was the turning point in his life......
It's a tough world, I grant you that, but until you walk in his shoes......don't be be the judge on the mount!.....
We will miss his comedy...the world will miss him.

You are spot on about personality changes and depression after heart surgery due in part to the feeling of helpless vulnerability as well as the side effects of the follow-on Rx drugs. Robin said his idol and biggest influence was actor/comedian Jonathan Winters who also experienced identical severe depression throughout his life. Many people who come across as funny & carefree extroverts are actually sad & withdrawn introverts in real life and the psychological stress of maintaining the dual personalities is enough to push some over the edge.

Severe/Manic Depression is a real disease, just like cancer, and very hard to treat.
I don't feel suicide is a cowardly act nor a selfish one. I don't know what has lead anyone to take their life, but I am sure that God understood.
I also think it more severe in highly intelligent people. Look at Hemmingway and so many others.
For the survivors, it is the most difficult death to accept or understand. Harder even than losing someone to homocide. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
I pray Mr. Williams has found peace.

Now, go to it, trolls. Post your insults and whack-a-doodle judging icons. It's what you do and your ONLY contributon.

I agree!
Johnny Carson was a very quiet man until he was on stage and then he was "on".
Lucille Ball was funny, but when off stage she was a total bitch.
It goes on and on.
