Job creation stumbled in December, with the economy adding just 74,000 positions even as the Federal Reserve voted to take the first steps in eliminating its stimulus program.

The unemployment rate dropped to 6.7 percent, below economist estimates and due primarily to continued shrinkage in the labor force. The labor force participation rate tumbled to 62.8 percent, its worst level since January 1978.

The monthly job creation was the worst in nearly three years and well below the upwardly revised 241,000 in November.

Wait, what?

Any momentum from healthy employment gains in October and November was stymied by the December data, released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Last month, U.S. employers added a net 74,000 people to their payrolls, the lowest output of the year and a stark contrast to the 200,000-plus payroll jobs added in October and November. The jobless rate, however, dropped from 7.0 percent in November to 6.7 percent in December, largely because 347,000 people stopped looking for work, meaning they're no longer counted as unemployed.

He is doing a good job if you enjoy being depressed and hopeless because you have not been able to find a job for the last five years, except at Subway, as a Sandwich Artist!
Isn't this about as thoughtless as a comment can get?
