Folks, clicking on the link helps the NYT and hurts the Republic. Besides if it is a post by Puke then chances are it is a story on the incurability of cranial rectumitus among progressive vermin.

Oh wait. I did click on that link. There's big words there. I got lost after the words "debilitating illnesses."

I never click on links other posters provide. No offense, but it's really fool hardy to take the chance of polluting your computer with a virus.
Absolutely don't if you are online on your employer's equipment.

I suppose that one must be very very careful about clicking on links that begin with " http://www.nytimes.com ".

Never know what one might be exposed to there.

In these troubled times, one must always maintain a heightened level of caution in order to zealously guard their protective cone of insularity from incursions of independent thought.

The NYT hasn't endorsed an R for President since 1956. Just because it employs Brooks doesn't make it independent thought.

I never mentioned the word "hack" in this thread, you were the first to use it.

Yes, that's right, I did. Because that is the basic premise you are pushing here.

"If its in the NYT, it must be political pablum", is the argument you seem to convey.

I'm saying politely that such a proposition is horse pucky.

You know Karl, when I came across Mr. Rushdie's opinion piece today, given our discussion about the "courage" it takes to register as a user of Topix, and your theory of "accountability", I thought that Rushdie's writing might spark some thoughtful reflection about what those words really mean.

Perhaps I was mistaken.
