In 1993, President Clinton and Vice President Gore launched their economic strategy:(1) establishing fiscal discipline, eliminating the budget deficit, keeping interest rates low, and spurring private-sector investment; (2) investing in people through education, training, science, and research; and (3) opening foreign markets so American workers can compete abroad. After eight years, the results of President Clinton’s economic leadership are clear. Record budget deficits have become record surpluses, 22 million new jobs have been created, unemployment and core inflation are at their lowest levels in more than 30 years, and America is in the midst of the longest economic expansion in our history.
President Clinton’s Record on the Economy: In 1992, 10 million Americans were unemployed, the country faced record deficits, and poverty and welfare rolls were growing. Family incomes were losing ground to inflation and jobs were being created at the slowest rate since the Great Depression. Today, America enjoys what may be the strongest economy ever.
Strong Economic Growth: Since President Clinton and Vice President Gore took office, economic growth has averaged 4.0 percent per year, compared to average growth of 2.8 percent during the Reagan-Bush years. The economy has grown for 116 consecutive months, the most in history.
Most New Jobs Ever Created Under a Single Administration: The economy has created more than 22.5 million jobs in less than eight years—the most jobs ever created under a single administration, and more than were created in the previous 12 years. Of the total new jobs, 20.7 million, or 92 percent, are in the private sector.
Median Family Income Up $6,000 since 1993: Economic gains have been made across the spectrum as family incomes increased for all Americans. Since 1993, real median family income has increased by $6,338, from $42,612 in 1993 to $48,950 in 1999 (in 1999 dollars).
Unemployment at Its Lowest Level in More than 30 Years: Overall unemployment has dropped to the lowest level in more than 30 years, down from 6.9 percent in 1993 to just 4.0 percent in November 2000. The unemployment rate has been below 5 percent for 40 consecutive months. Unemployment for African Americans has fallen from 14.2 percent in 1992 to 7.3 percent in October 2000, the lowest rate on record. Unemployment for Hispanics has fallen from 11.8 percent in October 1992 to 5.0 percent in October 2000, also the lowest rate on record.
Lowest Inflation since the 1960s: Inflation is at the lowest rate since the Kennedy Administration, averaging 2.5 percent, and it is down from 4.7 percent during the previous administration.
Highest Homeownership Rate on Record: The homeownership rate reached 67.7 percent for the third quarter of 2000, the highest rate on record. In contrast, the homeownership rate fell from 65.6 percent in the first quarter of 1981 to 63.7 percent in the first quarter of 1993.
7 Million Fewer Americans Living in Poverty: The poverty rate has declined from 15.1 percent in 1993 to 11.8 percent last year, the largest six-year drop in poverty in nearly 30 years. There are now 7 million fewer people in poverty than there were in 1993.
Establishing Fiscal Discipline and Paying off the National Debt
President Clinton’s Record on Fiscal Discipline: Between 1981 and 1992, the national debt held by the public quadrupled. The annual budget deficit grew to $290 billion in 1992, the largest ever, and was projected to grow to more than $455 billion by Fiscal Year (FY) 2000. As a result of the tough and sometimes unpopular choices made by President Clinton, and major deficit reduction legislation passed in 1993 and 1997, we have seen eight consecutive years of fiscal improvement for the first time in America’s history.
Hey, Fry Queen...which party held both the House and Senate for the final six of Clinton's eight years?

The Great Bill Clinton!

Hillary Clinton 2016
Bill Clinton VP 2016

The people love it, when they can read the many accomplishments.

The Republicans love to tell about that old wore out blue dress story. That shows what they know.

The housing bubble and burst was created by the Democrats. People who financially couldn't afford to buy a house were getting loans although they were high risks.
And the housing market has suffered for the past 5 years because of it.

If you look to when the Clinton's Presidency fortunes changed, it was when Newt took control of the house. Clinton is no dummy, he worked with the Republican leaders and because he is Slick Willy took the credit for everything.

But really if you want to look at why the Democrats are what they are today let's look back to 1998 when Slick Willy had an affair with a 22 year old intern.

By all human resources definitions of appropriate behavior, Clinton should have been fired. He was in a position of influence to this subordinate person. Any CEO would have gotten fired but this man was supported by his fellow Democratic politicians. Woman's rights groups did nothing to stand up for this blatant act of sexual misconduct.

And that is when I realized that the left isn't for the people, but for an agenda. Just like with gun control, the proposals won't prevent what happened in CT, CO, or VA but it is part of the left's agenda to do what they believe to be right. Not what is best for the people. This is why Slick Willy is their poster child.

“It is well enough that people … do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.” Henry Ford, American industrialist
“It seems to me that Europe, especially with the addition of more countries, is becoming ever-more susceptible to any asymmetric shock. Sooner or later, when the global economy hits a real bump, Europe’s internal contradictions will tear it apart.” Milton Friedman, American economist
“The normal functioning of our economy leads to financial trauma and crises, inflation, currency depreciations, unemployment and poverty in the middle of what could be virtually universal affluence-in short … financially complex capitalism is inherently flawed.” Hyman Minsky, American economist.
People are being played like fiddles by wealthy monied interest.
1. First, the question of deregulation. Too much optimism, overconfidence or simple naiveté sometimes allow the development of some form of risky Ponzi-scheme finance. And, this is pretty much what we have seen over the last 10 years.
—Under the old traditional financial rules, a bank or a credit union would collect deposits or borrow in the open market, lend this money to investors, keep reserves for contingencies, and would hold onto the loans until maturity.
The ponzi schemes are complex financial machinations that are purposely done by those who are controlling it.
Why were such new banking rules adopted? Why were they so risky and dangerous? And how did they lead to the near complete collapse of the credit system in the fall of 2008?
-First, they were very profitable to the mega-banks for a while because the banks raked in large fees on the new financial products.
-Second, the politicians were persuaded to let them “innovate” with the new leverage finance by removing most regulation that would have prevented the banks from doing what they were doing.
-Third, it led to irresponsible lending because the lenders were no longer risking their own money but the money of far away investors.
-And, fourth, the moral dimension cannot be neglected. Indeed, it took a lot of corruption and a lot of greed to create such a mammoth crisis.— Greed was even glorified in the 1987 movie “Wall St.” in which Michael Douglas—playing the character of financier Gordon Gekko—says:“Greed is good, Greed is right. Greed Works.” This was the prevailing ideology at the time.
While Rush, Hannity, Levin, Borzt, and other ideologues would have certain sections of the population believe our downfall is the fault of "urban people" who were given bank loans for houses they "couldn't afford" is far from the reality of what actually took place.
When companies down size or move over seas, to quickly pay larger dividends to investors, no one purchasing a home in a better school district and community thinks I shouldn't sign for this loan because at any time my job could be lost! Those people COULD afford those monthly payments and insurance at the time of signing! But a lot of people were schemed with difficult wording in fine print that some attorneys would need time to thoroughly investigate, or had their jobs lost due to no fault of their own!!!
If many of you lost your high five figure salaries how would you keep your homes from a foreclosure? Don't always believe it's the fault of the borrower because of the bias you posses in your hearts.

That destroys your fantasy though, so you continue on in your 3d movie of a fantasy utopia, while those you think are going to deliver it to you, work to further enslave you to the Government, so very soon they control 100% of your life.

LBJ in his own words on tape said the great society's only purpose is to enslave a specific race of people to the government, and guaranteeing votes for the next 75 years.

What happened on 9/11? The culmination of Bill Clinton's affairs, ineptitude and general laziness:

NBC News has obtained, exclusively, extraordinary secret video, shot by the U.S. government. It illustrates an enormous opportunity the Clinton administration had to kill or capture bin Laden. Critics call it a missed opportunity.
