If I outlive my husband, I'm having the following put on his tombstone:
'Here lies ______, who always parked as far away as possible from the building, no matter how late he was, how bad the weather was or how badly his wife needed to use the ladiesroom.' R.I.P.
You'll outlive him. I'll be available to assist you in putting that life insurance check to good use! Ya know it's in vogue for an older white widow to have a nice black 'companion' to keep her mind and body active. You just tell your friends and family members who don't agree with your decision, that I'm your mechanic or handy man if they ask. They'll surely want to know why you act so extra giddy since I been coming around to do 'handy man' work once a week.

Noooo, those words aren't threatening, they're words of caution that's all. The world can be a pretty rough place sometimes.

I do. Hubby's major downfall is money management. I can give him $100.00 or $20.00; he will spend it in the same amount of time. Allowing him to use a credit card or a debit card for routine purchases would be financial suicide. I manage the money, he knows that budgeting is his downfall and has no problem with me handling it. His knowledge of our financial situation is "are we good?" and awaits an answer from me of "yes" or "scale back this week". After 20 years of marriage...if I haven't changed that in him yet, ain't gonna happen. Sorry, duplicate checks it is!

We recycle. Truthfully, my husband has so much 'stuff he needs' in the garage, I'm lucky I can get two cars in there. Marriage is great, but you have to put up with certain things. The recyle cans are outside.
I'll get WA to clean it out after he's 'gone.':-)

Same here. The checkbook burns his fingers, but the ATM card he cannot live without. And he overspends. Not like crazy, but there is always something extra he comes home with.

You know my main complaint this week? We have no less than $1,000. of 'stuff' to be installed or fixed...including a $700.00 gas generator we've had since September.....and he doesn't get it done. If my power goes out, I can go out and just look at my back up generator.

But, if I do it, or call a handyman, his feelings get hurt.

<quoted text> So, the lady at S.S. was white who made that bigoted comment? I didn't know black pregnant women automatically get S.S. or black people in general! I'm going to have to go sign up my self and get PAID! CHA CHING!!
You know, I honestly don't remember what race she was. WA, I had no idea that pregnant automatically meant medicaid, OR that married women that have babiess get 8 (I thik) weeks social security disability! My cousin's married daughter had a baby 1/4/13 and got a lump sum check from SS! When did this begin?

What is wrong with Aldi's? They have some.good vegetables when out.of season locally. And their brand of fig.newtons are.as.good.as Nabisco and a third the price.
I don't have a problem with it--but I note that many people turn up their noses.

In my experience they have decent canned products and while their selection is limited, they seem to select from current trends. I go to some of the larger chains to get fuel points, but Aldi's is good to stock up for holiday baking and the like. I also like to go there if I am buying food pantry items because their canned meats are superior and reasonably-priced.

Our trash company won't currently take plastic grocery bags in our recycling bins. I was referring to the collection container for them at the front of grocery stores.
