Have you looked into what has happened in the past several years with the state school board in Ohio?
You should. Interesting articles in the Beacon Journal the past few days.
The DeRolph decisons have been effectively emasculated by the GOP.

My kids have been out of school and college for many years now so I don't keep up with local school boards and their business agendas. But I will take a look!
Thanks!

Good the deRolph case was shooped until they found an sack of shyte liberal in a county with a moron for a common pleas court Judge. I have known Linton Lewis for a long time and he can barely tie his shoes. He is a fine example of "it is not what you know but who uou do blow with" that matters.

I am all for revamping how schools are funded but of the deRolph case.

Look at how the makeup of State Board, and how they are placed in that role has changed over the past ten years.

Eye opening.

This is what's happening in 45 states.....
The educational system in this country is only a memory.

The article about the board member married to the lobbyists...bad ethics.

In my daughters district, parents are protesting against the " open enrollment" in their district.
Residents pay taxes and here comes bussed students, who pay not one dime and the school district gets more money per student for the open enrollment kids than they get for the tax paying students.
In my district, they are greedy and waste money, and spend it on wasteful projects. Then turn around and ask for a levy.
I don't trust any of them.....so political any more. They lost the focus on the kids and turned it on themselves, for power.
I'm just sick of paying for levies and then waste the monies!

<quoted text>No it's the kids and their dumb azz parent's. If you'd pay attention to your'e kids maybe you'd know they can't read nor write. Get them a tutor, better yet-you should put a camera in the room and let it record so you can see how your kid behaves. You'd be changing your'e words.
I did pay attention that's why my son can write today. My son was a fine reader (I had to teach him how to write) and I was his teacher for four years prior to graduation. Do they drag people in off the streets and call them teachers? I think so. I think camera's should be in every classroom monitoring the teachers.

<quoted text> YOU ARE THE PROBLEM! And parents who think like you. Why wait all those years to send a child to total strangers and hope your child is being educated?!!! WTF! That very attitude is what's wrong with the urban school districts, THE PARENTS AREN'T TEACHING THEIR CHILDREN. My kid was 2 years old when I put A PEN in that little hand and taught how to hold it, by age 3 the entire name was spelled, pictures drawn, coloring inside the lines, A through Z alphabets, all eight basic colors, with silver, gold, tan, added, and could count to 20!
It's the parent(s) fault 98%, not the teachers.
Get off your lazy ass and educate your kid!
I did educate my son - if you can read, read my posts.

Had you started at two or three instead of 14, you wouldn't be bitching the way you are.

No doubt -- autocorrect. But that doesn't address the situation.

I have witnessed my physician use preprinted scripts for commonly used meds, scripts WHEN not electronic have the identifying doc and his phone printed, etc. Plenty of failsafes.

I have horrible handwriting, have been told my signature looks like an EKG printout. Some of this is due to arthritis in my hands, much due to laziness. But believe as Bizz does, it is an important skill to learn.

You're a loser, I did start at two or three. Don't you think in the eight years of schooling they would realize that he couldn't write or at least let me know. It seems as if writing is the only thing you know how to do. You've been on here 24/7 for how many years... get a job.

You said earlier that you started working with your kid at 14 and that teachers were supposed to be the ones solely responsible for educating your kid. Why didn't YOU know in those eight years that he couldn't write? You never checked his homework or went to a parent teacher conference, did you?
BTW, I'm fairly certain I take my job more seriously than you took your kid's early education. You might want to direct your frustration where it belongs...in the mirror.
