What do you suggest? Bombing Tehran? You do understand that it is populated by a generally civil, highly educated society in which a large portion of the population does not agree with the actions of its government, right?
Ask Paco. He seems to be quite the knowledgeable world traveler.
Maybe he has traveled there.

Ahmadinejad is a professor.

Highly educated doesn't correlate always with liberalism.

Tehran is mostly a polluted, overpopulated dump.

Most Iranians are not against a Sharia system, they have disagreements with some of the ruling clerical families.

Bombing them won't really do anything, the best option would be to intensify the economic strangulation, not lighten it.

We could also dump more opium into their borders. Allegedly they have the most drug addicts per capita.

A Muslim kind of "courage".
Only a moron travels to a country with which we have no diplomatic relations.

You won't even go to the local school board meeting.

Somehow, I don't categorize that as "American" or "Christian" courage.

We know how you treat your kid, Douchie. I look out for the best interests of mine. I feel sorry for yours...for a lot of reasons.

I've been. Even with the fiddly visa restriction requirements it is a place I highly recommend visiting. Especially for folks scared of the Iranian boogeymen in global politics or those looking for a really unique take on an underground punk music scene. Great food, really welcoming people and an intellectual culture wonderfully (and understandably) based around house parties, mirroring early modern French salons, but with more horrifyingly bad gin*.

*If you're at a house party out there, I might suggest not drinking. Everyone else seems to at closed door events but I'm a little wary about risking jail sentences overseas.

Let's see.

Let's say you work for Kruger Industrial Smoothings. Let's say you begin to anonymously spread snarky comments about Mr. Kruger over the internet, and Mr. Kruger is upset about it. He devises a simple plan to determine the identity of the person engaging in that activity. Mr. Kruger's plan works like a charm, and you are exposed over the weekend.

Are you saying Mr. Kruger would be unjustified in having you ceremoniously escorted out of the building with discharge papers in your hand when you arrive for work on Monday?

That seems a bit preposterous, especially for someone who has in the past advocated for "at-will" employment.

I've surmised that this "I hate Obama" rhetoric well exceeds any rational thought from any of these wing nut cartoons.

What sort of American has traveled to Teheran in the past 35 years, Douchie?
Anyone who doesn't have an Israeli stamp in their passport (the digital record won't count, just make sure there's no physical proof of a visit in the passport you're using to enter) who has pre-arranged the visit with a licensed tour group and visa desk through the Pakistani embassy. It's rather a pain to arrange for US passports but entirely possible.

If you've got books with racy covers or contraband on entry it'll be seized but all in all the entry process once your visa is settled seems pretty chill, for the region.

You're aware that many regions of Switzerland allow non citizens to vote or even run for office in non-national elections?
