Isn't this the job of the probation department? Perhaps Judge Herbert should run that department.

I am a part of the catch court myself and can't even begin to say how much my life has improved with Judge Herberts style of rehabilitating a broken person. He means so much to us and the respect he gives each one of us women is far beyond what we ever thought we deserved . The staff is honest, really cares and have been a true help in my recovery from crack and prostitution. They have helped me learn to trust again. I want to thank 10TV WBNS for taking the time to come and see for yourselves how this program works. I think that it would be great to do a follow-up story about how much our lives are moving forward with the confidence and love we have recieved from Judge Herbert,CiCi, Shaneiqua, Andrea, Julie ClarK (doma), Jeanette Bradley(2ND Chance Ministry's), Krista Killian(Southeast Mental Healh case-manager), Kae Denino(doma), Carrie Mollette, Kristen Mollette (true friends to each of us),Dawn Allen(volunteer), Kathy and Connie (volunteers that feed us!!!!)and so many other great volunteers that do practically anything eles that is needed. I am now reunited with my children, able to be a good mom and grandmother, a caring daughter, a loving sister, and an important part of my family.I AM ALSO ATTENDING COLLEGE!!! It is a dream that Catch Court helped me realize. Changing Actions To Change Habits is we stand for. Thank you God, and thank you Judge Herbert for believing in me and loving me when I couldn't do it myself Gina Burris

I see that there are many people AGAINST this program...
Hmmm,,,, let me remind you that PRISON IS FOR THE VIOLENT AND/OR HABITUAL OFFENDER ONLY!!!!!!
NOT FOR THESE TYPES WHAT SO EVER!!!
There are more perverts and pimps out there than you think...
TRUST ME ...I just left the joint FOR REAL...
AND THEY ARE STARVED FOR NEW COMERS.....
I am glad that they realize that prison is NOT for this type of "offender" (they are not an offender...they are a victim of the game that is being played .......for real but anyway"")
STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE BECAUSE IT IS A FACT that
these women were sexually abused at a young age and they have no control over this WHAT SO EVER`....
this is MORE COMMON than you think...

Prostitution is something I have never understood.
Why would any man pay for sex when it is availible for free just about anytime and anyplace?
Plenty of horny women out there. You don't have to look hard to find them.

They are not paying for the sex, they are paying for her to leave afterwards. It is a service, the same as a hair cut or having your lawn mowed. Sure, you can cut your own grass or you can hire someone to cut it for you. Same thing.

I just can't imagine that having sex with someone who is motivated by getting paid can be as good as having sex with someone who wants it just as bad as you do, or even worse.

It all starts with "mama's boyfriend." Almost every single time you hear that the girl ran away from home because of abuse by momma's boyfriend.
That puts the blame squarely on momma's shoulders. The scumbag women that have children while unmarried and then have a parade of sex partners in and out of their homes are the single biggest cause of prostitution.
Of course those men cruising the street looking for a $20 pick-up might just have SOMETHING to do with it, don't you agree?

Funny how this judge likes to help whores out but when I was falsely arrested for OVI and the person who was the one driving testified in court stating that, he forced me to please guilty by threatening to put me in jail for 6 months - on a first time offense no less. Refused any type of diversion program, etc. This judge forced me to move out of the place I had been living and move in with relatives because of the financial burden it cost to try to clear my name and almost lost my job. No praise here.
"Falsely arrested", I'm sure. OVI is a crime that should be heavily prosecuted. You could have KILLED someone. Furthermore, the negative consequences that resulted were WELL DESERVED and a result of YOUR OWN ACTIONS - period. Take some responsibility.

Gina,
I am so happy to hear you have received help and are attending college. We use to be neighbors long ago and I have spent so many happy times with your children. My prayers have been upon you for a long time now. I am wishing you the best of a happy, healthy life.
Remember, we can do all things through Christ.
