(Some) Christians seem to vent veto power over some's seeking of happiness, it seems.
<quoted text>
Do you mean Christians must approve them before they are allowed to happen?
<quoted text>
I've always thought so, but that view is apparently gaining popularity now that the writing seems to be on the wall.(I wonder why it wasn't so popular when the government was suppressing gay rights). I guess to some, it's all in whose ox is being gored.
Some Christians will tell you it's not about what you want; it's not about your happiness. It's about doing what God wants and you put everything else aside.

You could find corollaries in Buddhism.

The actual examples of Islam typically don't seem to infer self sacrifice that much.

That is roughly the orthodox position.

And when the government acts with deliberate immorality (SSM is really one of thousands of things it is doing wrong) then it is illegitimate.

The above upsets people, but that's too bad for them. For the state and people, I do as little as required and nothing more.

You give a shit enough to respond.

There's enough fear in you that you keep coming back with your Anti-Christian and Anti-White spiel.

Only speaking for myself, but there are lots of Christians I have no problem whatsoever with. It's the few who seek to impose their ways onto those who do not welcome the imposition that I dislike. They give Christianity a bad name.

What I want is for people to follow what I do. I see little use for the government enforcing that as it fails at nearly everything. I prefer persuasion and economics, but with a hostile cultural establishment I can't do much there. But I am dead set against the government and the majority clearly demonstrating an Anti Christian sentiment. I want no part of such government or people.

I don't really expect you to accept it, I'm just telling you that I am against the progressives wherever they are and I want to use as many tools as I can against them.

Disinformation from the cultural establishment makes that impossible.

The leftists on here are valid examples of that.

You can't really overcome the flawed nature of humanity, such is the difference between you and I at the fundamental level. Correct me if I am wrong, but your principle has always been that humanity can be improved if "freed". I am always of the other side, that man can only be "trained".

Yes, but man is also resistant to training being "imposed" upon him. If one leads by example, one can train men and leave them thinking it was their idea.

But you have no problem at all with same-sex practitioners imposing their ways onto those who do not welcome the imposition -- all the while screaming, "Tolerance!"

The LGBTQIABCDEF lobby does not tolerate those who hold a different opinion -- it seeks to silence them in any way possible, e.g., hateful social media/PR campaigns, national boycotts, shaming and demanding the public apology and subsequent firing of anyone who dares to disagree [Chick-fil-A, ESPN's Chris Broussard, Tony Dungy, Univ of Nebraska Coach Ron Brown, singer Lauryn Hill, Pastor Louie Giglio (disinvited to pray at Obama's inauguration), Jane Pitt (Brad Pitt's mother), any researcher whose credible resarch disproves gay propaganda, public school teachers who post to their personal FB accounts, U.S. military chaplains/troops, pastors/priests/even the Pope...et al, ad infinitum].

The events of the past week concerning Paula Deen should send chills down the spine of every freedom-loving American who must now face the fact that one may no longer speak freely in this nation -- one must conform to the Leftist PC Laws or be personally and professionally destroyed, ostracized from the New Society.

They have the numbers today, we don't.

It's better to re-examine ourselves and how we let this happen.

They have the media, so they can get away with it.

Talk to those who agree with you, get them to drop their cable and quit seeing films. If enough of our side did that, the media would have to quit harping the social liberalism. Some of us just seem to like being beaten up.

They don't have the numbers, but the ruling elite have allowed them to successfully bully their way into a position of power.

In terms of raw percentage, yes. But in terms with a majority supporting SSM and the cultural establishment 10 to 1 in favor, at minimum, they do have the numbers.

I consider that the elite was always their friend, just note the Rockefeller and Ford Foundations.

Moral Americans couldn't even tell the Mouse to take a hike.
