this woman was DRUNK when she hit this poor kid. Shes a bar tender at the filling station & went around TELLING people she hit him. how do I know? because my husbands best friend is there almost every weekend & heard it! This woman has NO remorse & should be locked up for the entire 10 years. How can she awake every morning KNOWING she killed this innocent child. and trust me, SHE KNEW!!! What a shame....

Whell now, that's just great that she is being charged with failure to stop at/after the accident and for tampering with evidence. It's also good that she will face up to 10 years however,WHERE are the more DIRECT charges such as vehicular homicide/manslaughter. Ron O'Brian, where is your head at in this case?

I guess it wasn't to hard. She left him dying on the side of the roade like a dog. Put her in jail and lose the key. It is what she deserves. Maybe just maybe if she would have stopped, the guy would still be alive

If she would change her plea to texting while driving and kill someone in this part of the state she'd only get 90 days and walk

His DNA was on the windshield, he died after being hit by her car...what else do you need? A confession? A part of him was somehow on her windshield and he is DEAD. Why no homicide charge?

By the looks of the photo's. It sure looks as if. She hit the young man at a high rate of speed. And didnt even try to stop at all. Sure looks like it was Veiculal homicide. Even with the fact. That she know what she had done. And tryed her best to cover her tracks. She should go to jail for a long long time. And never be able to seat behind a steering wheel of any auto.Ever again.Im seat here asking.Myself was she durgs or drunk. There no exxxxxxxxxxxcuse for what she did at all.she should be seating in jail right now with out any kind of bond what so ever.

Toward the end of the article,it is mentioned that the victims blood was in fact found on the windshield. How is a lack of evidence pertaining to charges of vehicular honicide even if there were no witness'? The discovery of the victims blood places the vehicle at the scene where he was hit.

How do you know he didn't go to the authorities. They said there were no witnesses. Maybe it is this guy turning her in that triggered them to look at her.

I didn't know that filling stations (a.k.a. gas stations) have bartenders. Yes, they sell beer/alcohol but i wouldn't call the clerk a bartender.

while it is tragic this young man was hit and killed by a drunken mess what do you think is going to happen riding your bicycle on busy sawmill? far to many cyclists think that they are on an even playing field with cars and can ignore all laws that cars have to obey. when you play on busy streets bad things happen. the wet woman that hit him should go to prison for life, it's one thing if you accidentally hit someone if you are drunk it should be death penalty time. bicycle riders should stay off congested roads

Hey everyone why are we all judging this person who you dont even know. I know her very well and she is a very good and honest person. She was not drunk and there is no evidence to prove that. She could have just hit the young mans bike in the road after he had been hit. That would explain the DNA on the car. If she was trying to hide something she would not go to a body shop the next day in the same area.....This is a example of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She turned herself in by the way, and passed a lie - detector test given by CPD. Lets not be so quick to judge....

Whether or not this woman was drunk, is NOT the idea. The fact that she hit this young man, leaving him to die a horrible death, is what's important. He did not deserve to die like that. And, he has just as much right to ride his bike on Sawmill, as much as anyone else has a right to drive or walk along Sawmill. And the fact that she knew she had hit him, leaving him there is just so wrong. I do believe that she should get the full 10 years in prison. She got her car fixed and did everything she could to keep from getting caught. I hope the judge makes her put a picture of that young man up on her cell wall, and in a place that she has to look at it every day that's she in there.
May God comfort the family of this young man, and let them know that he is in GOD'S Loving Arms and doing his artwork for God.

I agree Bud. Bicyclist have no reason to be riding down Sawmill Rd. To bad the City couldn't have made it more bicycle friendly when they widened it years ago. Too bad that young guy didn't have adequate lighting. As for the cyclists who ignore the traffic laws, maybe they deserve to get hit. Just don't cry when you blow thru a red light and get multiple fractures in your leg and want to sue the driver. Bikers, Obey the Law. Drivers, Share the road. Note: I'm not saying that JS was breaking the law. I am saying that he shouldn't have been on the road at 3am without proper safety equipment.

its funny how you can kill someone using your car and get off with very little time in jail but if you used a gun you could get life or death.

LOL riiiight bc you know he just sat there.....ACTUALLY if u knew whta u were talking about, she has been a suspect since the DAY AFTER the hit when she turned your car into a body shop for 'supposively' hitting a deer she said. They have questioned people at the bar ever since. so shut your mouth bc you obviously dont know what your talking about.
