I am greatly concerned with what I interpreted as a very one sided story (non passive) regarding this incident. Your article and newscast, goes to great lengths to describe Matthew Hook’s crimes, Interviewing Lt. Robert Pendleton, and Michael Kathary. Yet what was barely highlighted, is the fact that this 23 year old man is Hospitalized with a critical head wound, and will likely have a life changing injury. Does a person truly deserve to be vilified and injured so greatly for being a thief? I think any reasonable person, with any sense of compassion would know the answer to this.
Sadly, In 2008 there was a very similar case in NYC involving a mentally ill man named Iman Morales. He was tased on a single story ledge (probably about as high as the fence in your recent story), and fell landing on his head. He died shortly thereafter. The only key difference between the two is that Iman fell in full view of a camera and many bystanders, where as, Matt Hook fell behind a fence where you cannot see the tragic aftermath. Officers in the NYC case were disciplined for reckless use of a taser (their policy states that a taser can only be used if a suspect is on stable ground), lawsuits were filed, and one officer ended up committing suicide.
I suggest that this story be slightly revised too reflect the tragic nature of these events. Possibly an interview with Matthew Hook parents. Perhaps a comment on why Perry Townships Taser policy allows for such grievous bodily harm to take place on a person “suspected” of a crime? Being a resident of the Dublin area (I live within 1mile of where the incident took place) this is information I would like to see addressed.

Hey Connor. You're right. Why bother trying to stop criminals. Afterall, you live close enough. Let them break into your house and take your belongings. Of course, that would only give you the chance to complain about police not doing their jobs. WHICH IS TO STOP CRIMINALS! I will not feel sorry for anyone who was injured due to their own actions.

Connor you are the epitome of what is wrong with this Country. Removing all the blame from the bad guy and redirecting it onto the police. You are such a cowardly fool. I don't want to hear from Mathew Hooks parents. I don't care what they have to say. What? That he was a "good" boy but was going through some tough times. Well Connor here is a news flash for ya. We are all going through hard times right now.
Oh, and please with that "alleged" BS he was in a stolen vehicle that was taken out of a burglary. He caused everything that happened to him. He made a choice to break into a house, he made a choice to steal a vehicle and he made a choice to run from the police. All his choices, all ignorant choices. He got what he deserved.
As far as the NYC incident if an officer committed suicide then I'm going to guess that he had other issues in his life.
Connor you keep you Punk butt in Dublin and I'll stay in Grove City with all the NRA loven red blooded Americans. I need a Miller light

We want that darn fool locked up my man! I don't want that guy kicking my front door in and taking all of your gay porn! Remember we only live 1 mile from where this guy was committing his crime! Heck I'm just a pile of wood, but I'm smart enough to stop when a cop yells STOP!
By the way Connor, I made sure the cable box DVR'd My Fair Wedding with David Tutera for ya!

Hey if he would've surrendered when the cop told him to stop, he would not have been tasered and then fall of the wall. The officer should get a commendation medal.

I'm glad they apprehended him before he could harm my friends who also live nearby. Don't do the crime and you won't face the penalties.
