That's cellular. Location comes in satellite. Location of ISP in the country seems to react different than city connections.
I use my iPad...is that still cellular?

When I am out of my house, and go to visit my friend, or anyone in a different county, it registers in that area, if I don't use my registered name,BB.
Plus, when it asks you if they can use your current location when you open Safari, you hit OK and that's determined. If you hit NO, then they assign you one.

Something will happen to bring her back in the future. No doubt the utter failure of Obamacare so far and our vindication is one reason she's still afraid to return.
hahaa! Many lib's have been quiet.

If you pay for that, yeah.(with wifi turned off)
If you only run wifi, then you're going of their routers internet location.

So, communication between you and the service provider is established according to the PPP protocol which is characterized for example: The NEAREST AVAILABLE phone call. Selecting an ISP depends on many criteria including the number of services offered and the quality of these services. So what are these criteria?
Cover: some ISPs only offer cover in large towns, other offers national coverage, i.e. a number which is charged as a local call wherever you are calling from.
Bottom line: when you plug in your modem, it finds the nearest available ISP.
Some computer settings and depending who you browse with can also effect the outcome of a location it reads on forums.
Awesome. Now explain how Topix decides what link to put under a poster's name.

When 52% of the murders in this country are committed by 13% of the population (in fact, more like 6% of the population...given that males are almost all to blame), there's a major problem with ONE specific race.

Every time some nut fires off a couple rounds
it will now be called a "shooting spree?"

I think that here should be a minimum loss
of life number required before that term is used.
Five? Anything below that and it's just another
murder.

70% of the true spree shooters are white males.

Let's not water that down with the inclusion of
incidents like that above.

The FBI's definition is four fatalities, not including the shooter.

Link? I don't think Topix decides what city is put under your name or that it is a link to their local forum.
I've tried to explain the basics to the system, which is too complex to pin-point from each users settings and devices. I also will assume some difference in someone being registered and non-registered to cookies being stored on their computer, but only referring to the e-mail address the register is using and not their location.

It is one specific gender, income level (or lack there of) and environment and mentality, who's causing mayhem. You always say black males without distinguishing the rotten ones from the majority. You use racist bigotry and dishonest conclusions to further your twisted WCM worldview, of us vs. them. I have lots of nephews that would run away from any friend that would suggest such brutality, but your bigotry would dump them in with the rotten teens. That's why you're challenged because you don't differentiate, dummy.

That's a lie! So, you're saying almost half of the black male population are involved in criminal behavior! You're outta your mind, bigot. You might as well say that out of every black person who lives in Hilliard, at least one black male from each family is involved with criminal behavior! You know that couldn't possibly be true, dummy.

Oh, I'll freely admit that most of the perps are under age 35 and that the black male age 14-24 is the overwhelming demographic. But most of you people are too stupid for those kind of details. Not you, but Rhino and that little joke from Nerk, for sure.

Here's the deal, dummy:

The November 2011 Department of Justice study concluded that "young black males were disproportionately involved in homicide compared with their proportion of the population."

This is understating it. The precise data show that even though black men between the ages of 14 and 24 make up only 1% of the U.S. population, they represent 27% of all the nation's murderers. This bears repeating: 1% of Americans are committing over a quarter of the murders.

Equally alarming, the administration study also found that blacks of any age are eight times more likely to murder than whites.

While blacks make up just 13% of the population, they're responsible for more than half 53% of the country's murders. By comparison, "whites" (Justice includes Hispanics in its "white" category) account for 83% of the population but less than half 45% of homicides.

I knew that took you to that cities forum. I still don't think Topix has an option to decide what one they want to place under there. Sometimes my location says Grove City. I'm still in Columbus, but my ISP was changed. I am guessing that by default, Topix opens links to other cities(in the blue print under name), that their servers are receiving to gain more traffic to their website.
Kinda like how wiki has links in certain words or ads that relate to similar searches on eBay.

Above is a little more on this.
I'll admit I'm not positive on how it works to a tee, however it has to work in a certain way that i'm sure of the basis.
