I heard this morning that the A-Team premiered thirty years ago today. Ugh! Started planning my funeral. No one tell me when the Love Boat aired.

One thing that struck me was last month, on the 40th anniversary of the last manned moon landing, realizing how long ago that was and what a crime it is that we've never been back.

I said don't tell me! I already felt old enough when hubby, four years younger than me, only saw reruns of the Love Boat on Saturday mornings as a child. Then you have the nerve to give me the actual year when I asked you not to! lol

True. The good old days when the teachers rolled in the TV to watch a space shuttle take off. LG and I watched the inauguration together and I asked her if she recognized the song Kelly Clarkson, one of her faves, was singing, answer, no. I guess partly my fault, but in elementary school, that's the songs we learned in music class.

Being chided for remarking that an 11 year old privileged girl should know to cover her mouth when yawning, especially when the cameras are on. When did manners go the way of the bustle, particularly for the privileged?

And re-rolling it to use the other side of the white tape hoping that the "k" you covered up erased the "o" then. Tap, tap, tap, dam, my "o" looks like a "q" now, not wasting any more.

OH, Glitter...my husband's a lot younger than me...more than four years! Sad thing is, he's the mature one.:-)

I remember my mother taking me outside to look at the moon WHILE they were walking on it. Didn't make much sense to me then and still doesn't. Oh, well.

I don't watch any of those reruns. What pisses me off is going to the store and the checkout girl calls me "sir".:-/

to me......watching my friends kids grow up makes me feel old.

your own kids are to close, so you miss the transformation.

But when you meet up with out of town friends where you have not seen them in a few years.

Their kids make me feel old.

I felt ancient when I had my first encounter with one of those newfangled touch screen fountain drink dispensers that offers a million different flavor combinations.

Explaining to a teenager how LP records had to be flipped over in order to listen to the second side.

Remembering when the standard procedure for adjusting a console TV's picture display was sharply whacking either side of the TV with your hand.

Hearing a favorite 70s and 80s song being played on an "oldies" station.

Watching a popular movie or tv show and not recognizing any of the actors.

Watching a favorite classic movie and having to watch the end credits because I couldn't remember an actor's name.

Watching a classic sci fi movie that was set in a then-future year (e.g. 2001) that has actually passed long ago.

Looking at a receipt from a restaurant and seeing that I was automatically given a 10% senior discount.
