As VA Doc says, I'm a pretty medium-duty bicyclist myself (100 miles per week, give or take). Riding a bike on a busy public street during the day, let alone at 2:30 in the morning does not show good judgment. And Darwin usually catches up with people who don't have good judgment.

The entitlement mentaility and the lack of common sense of bicyclists never ceases to amaze me. Sorry for your loss, but riding a bike at night is just plain DUMB.

Some people are good at it, others aren't and have to have it spelled out for them in a book. I would rate myself at about the 93% to 95% level of being perceptive and having a gut feel for things (top 5%). Perceptive enough to be a relatively prosperous kulak, but not enough to have the mega billions. But I'm just a poor immigrant kid. I wish I knew then what I know now.
