Pr Jonah, the fringe "cult" is the one the ONE brought to town and pretty much got his way. What a bunch of whinning BS. The Dems have gotten thier way for 50 years, the expansive march of government has never stopped, only paused slightly with Reagan. Now you want the whole enchilada with this usurper Communist and WE are the ones that won't deal? I have news for you, the 2010 elections were called "democracy" in action. Peeps trying to reign in Hope and Change. Now if those stubborn Repubs gain again and boot Hopey, what does that mean? It means Obums has overreached and Americans are sick of seeing it parted out and weakened by freaks and "forward" thinking libs. Even though the media has been silent on his past and real character, the folks know what they got now. Don't expect BS greek columns to make women faint this time around. BTW, since Obums was elected he got pretty much everything he wanted, Obumcare, trillions of debt, mountains of money to "stimulate" and create nirvanna. Here's another bummer for you. Those elected official vote to stay in office. In other words, it's what the voters want.
Be honest, Obums has not even put a budget out for consideration or negotiation? Wasn't it great the way he rammed through his Obumcare on very shakey ground after "the voters" of liberal Massachuesettes tried to stop his train. Lawmakers and voters don't forget his arrogance, he does not have the consensus he thinks he has, but he thinks he knows best. Sooo he rams it through or just pontificates an edict to get around laws enacted.
Naw, the dem party is left wing city now. Those RINOS who played along with the coup are running for the hills. So who moved. Tell me how Mr. Marxist third world is moderate? Wheres the moderation, where's the bridge to whitey, the fig leaf to say we are not hear to bring down the house. Oh...wait, if he had a son, he would look like moderate democrat with no hoodie.
One last thing, notice how your ilk is always talking about the "other", party and pointing fingers. Notice the dearth of talk about accomplishment, plans for the future? Oh yeah, he wants to reduce the deficit. He doesn't even try to foist that crap on anyone because that dog won't hunt.
You guys have had your day in the sun and buried this country with generational debt. Move over and let the adults pick up the pieces.

Thoroughly enjoyed the speeches tonight.
I notice a distinction between the theme that that Repubs stressed last week (I did it all alone and by myself) and the one that came through the Dems tonight. The Dems were focused on things that we, as Americans, have accomplished together.
The Republicans had to beat the bushes to come up with a diverse slate of speakers. The Dems have a such abundance that there were plenty of high quality, accomplished, well-recognized speakers, who by the way represented well the diversity that is America.
The theme of the Republicans was how each of their individuals had clawed their way--seemingly all alone--from nothing to a position of wealth and power. Many of the Dem speakers talked about how they--or their forbears, had fought to extend opportunity to others who were previousely excluded.
Clinton addressed economic policy with specifics. From Romney--not too many details, no background theory.
Found it all to be a reassuring reminder of the principles of this country that I hold dear.
Democrats hold dear......

no budget for 4 years; and runaway spending.

this is against the constitution

first time in recorded history, in 3 months nobody knows what the tax rate is.

so how do you hire anyone, when you have no idea what they cost?

But this the Dems blame GOP on, because Dems are responsible for the landscape they never built. Spin and lie will dupe those unable to think.

The lawn has gone unmowed for 4 years.

I've noticed this: the Republican party has an Elephant as their Symbol, lol & where are they kepted? In the United States of America they are kepted in Cages & Zoo's. The Democrats have a Donkey as their symbol, & where are they kepted? Not in cages or Zoo's, but they are working helping others. So do you want a Republican Elephant locked up or a Democrat Donkey that is working for us?

The democrats should change their symbol to fist clenched around a wallet, a waller that belongs to someone else since they love stealing under the guise of government.

the elephant is a social and very respectful of family animal, that will fight to the death to protect children.

the jackass does not care what the other animal is; and will breed with it freely. The children.....well let's just say they are lunch.

the Elephant may travel 25 miles in a day for water; but the jackass stares over an empty pail till it dies of dehydration.

The Elephant is a protected animal in every country; and has largest territory of any land animal.

The jackass is only a slave to carry cargo; and lives in a barb wire fence maze.

Not quite exactly truthful RS. See below:

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch)— Of all the falsehoods told about President Barack Obama, the biggest whopper is the one about his reckless spending spree.

As would-be president Mitt Romney tells it:“I will lead us out of this debt and spending inferno.”

Almost everyone believes that Obama has presided over a massive increase in federal spending, an “inferno” of spending that threatens our jobs, our businesses and our children’s future. Even Democrats seem to think it’s true.

But it didn’t happen. Although there was a big stimulus bill under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s.

Even hapless Herbert Hoover managed to increase spending more than Obama has.

Here are the facts, according to the official government statistics:

• In the 2009 fiscal year — the last of George W. Bush’s presidency — federal spending rose by 17.9% from $2.98 trillion to $3.52 trillion. Check the official numbers at the Office of Management and Budget.

• In fiscal 2010 — the first budget under Obama — spending fell 1.8% to $3.46 trillion.

• In fiscal 2011, spending rose 4.3% to $3.60 trillion.

• In fiscal 2012, spending is set to rise 0.7% to $3.63 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office’s estimate of the budget that was agreed to last August.

• Finally in fiscal 2013 — the final budget of Obama’s term — spending is scheduled to fall 1.3% to $3.58 trillion. Read the CBO’s latest budget outlook.
http://articles.marketwatch.com/2012-05-22/co...

Now--I will allow that there has been contention regarding the numbers. The primary attack has been based on trying to attribute stimulus dollars--included in GW Bush's final budge--to Obama.

Well, this is an inconsistency to be sure--but it was also a remarkable time. But even setting that one aside, it is pretty clear that the spend like a drunken sailor image doesn't fit the facts.

If by "adults" you mean those who espouse right-wing policies like deregulation of the financial industry, limitless credit for defense and tax cuts for the wealthy, well, those are the ones who left the mess in the first place.

Since then those "adults" have shown themselves willing to act as obstructionists--keeping Obama's jobs bill from consideration, not even allowing discussion, amendments, rewrites, in essence the process of government.

Meanwhile they have attempted to move through a redefinition of rape (Ryan was for it before he was against it), block funding for Planned Parenthood and claim that denying a woman the ability to use her own health insurance coverage for comprehensive gynecological coverage was a religious right covered by the Constitution. This last was considered by a panel of all men.

The have fostered the notion that anything less than ideological extremism is anathema to their cause. In other words, it is better that no legislation occur, rather than moving on legislation that considers the needs and beliefs of any outside their own narrow views.

Adults? No, I think not.

You know, RS, you bring up something that became very clear to me last night.

The Republican convention was all about the "me." It was a parade of "look what I have done, all alone, by myself, nobody helped me."

Last night I saw reference after reference to what people had done to improve the lot of others, or the group of us as a whole. The video on Ted Kennedy's accomplishments wasn't about how he managed to stay wealthy after being born into wealth. It was about his championing the rights of others to be able to vote, to be paid fairly for their work, to have access to health care. Ann Richard's daughter (now the head of Planned Parenthood) talked about her mother's work to ensure the rights of others. The accomplishments of Bill Clinton include peace and economic prosperity.

What is it about the right that renders them incapable of seeing the common good as being a desirable state? How is it that anyone who considers the needs of others is automatically assumed to be a loser with their own hand out?

When Democrats consider the needs of children in utero...we'll talk.
Until then...flaming hypocrites of epic proportion blathering about "the least of these" while snuffing them out daily.

By the way, lionizing Ted Kennedy...drunk womanizer...while promoting women's rights...again is hypocrisy of epic proportion.

He wasn't too concerned about Mary Jo Kopechne's health care, as I recall.
